		<official-title>To authorize the Secretary of the Interior to assist in
		  the planning, design, and construction of the Tumalo Irrigation District Water
		  Conservation Project in Deschutes County, Oregon.</official-title>

		<section display-inline="no-display-inline" id="H8CB065B3DA93473F93E42406641EC462" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the
			 <quote><short-title>Tumalo Water Conservation Project Act
			 of 2006</short-title></quote>.</text>
		</section><section id="H1B49F9D823C0438083B65B09A5B7257F"><enum>2.</enum><header>Definitions</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">In this Act:</text>
			<paragraph id="H85034E8A7816497C8188C4B985748007"><enum>(1)</enum><header>District</header><text>The
			 term <term>District</term> means the Tumalo Irrigation District, Oregon.</text>
			</paragraph><paragraph id="HA48BE12E0B14493F8B48BA64210467E"><enum>(2)</enum><header>Project</header><text>The
			 term <term>Project</term> means the Tumalo Irrigation District Water
			 Conservation Project authorized under section 3(a).</text>
			</paragraph><paragraph id="HCC063506B86D43489F45CE74283E4B28"><enum>(3)</enum><header>Secretary</header><text>The
			 term <term>Secretary</term> means the Secretary of the Interior.</text>
			</paragraph></section><section id="HF3AB4FE38E55410594D328F48577FD79"><enum>3.</enum><header>Authorization to
			 plan, design and construct the tumalo water conservation Project</header>
			<subsection id="HBB15ACD8240D478F965149D1E997B5B"><enum>(a)</enum><header>Authorization</header><text>The
			 Secretary, in cooperation with the District—</text>
				<paragraph id="H55518346AA5F4F18A89621A5C54A2F9"><enum>(1)</enum><text>may participate in
			 the planning, design, and construction of the Tumalo Irrigation District Water
			 Conservation Project in Deschutes County, Oregon; and</text>
				</paragraph><paragraph id="H96F5BCD3DB04405CB0A7911D364099CA"><enum>(2)</enum><text>for purposes of
			 planning and designing the Project, shall take into account any appropriate
			 studies and reports prepared by the District.</text>
				</paragraph></subsection><subsection id="HA65ABCE378944029B209E553E218F505"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Cost-Sharing
			 Requirement</header>
				<paragraph id="H4351F90DA08B420BB3E36BA221A3989E"><enum>(1)</enum><header>Federal
			 share</header><text>The Federal share of the total cost of the Project shall be
			 25 percent, which shall be nonreimbursable to the United States.</text>
				</paragraph><paragraph id="HDF5EC8E216D84F03A48F485E8F2047E2"><enum>(2)</enum><header>Credit toward
			 non-federal share</header><text>The Secretary shall credit toward the
			 non-Federal share of the Project any amounts that the District provides toward
			 the design, planning, and construction before the date of the enactment of this
			 Act.</text>
				</paragraph></subsection><subsection id="H86672DA79E0C449ABFDDA6BA008580A5"><enum>(c)</enum><header>Title</header><text>The
			 District shall hold title to any facilities constructed under this Act.</text>
			</subsection><subsection id="H81ECE5663FCB44AFB6B9F16351FF5DA"><enum>(d)</enum><header>Operation and
			 Maintenance Costs</header><text>The District shall pay the operation and
			 maintenance costs of the Project.</text>
			</subsection><subsection id="HB5B3E4B7C4DF417983A29371C207D054"><enum>(e)</enum><header>Effect</header><text>Any
			 assistance provided under this Act shall not be considered to be a supplemental
			 or additional benefit under Federal reclamation law (the Act of June 17, 1902
			 (32 Stat. 388, chapter 1093), and Acts supplemental to and amendatory of that
			 Act (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/43/371">43 U.S.C. 371 et seq.</external-xref>).</text>
			</subsection></section><section id="H9FEC76F7BA1F429B96C1A61BE59C4E62"><enum>4.</enum><header>Authorization of
			 appropriations</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">There is
			 authorized to be appropriated to the Secretary for the Federal share of the
			 cost of the Project $4,000,000.</text>
		</section><section id="HC204B10069BF4FABBF5CD700BE8F7D1D"><enum>5.</enum><header>Sunset</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">The authority of the Secretary to carry out
			 this Act shall expire on the date that is 10 years after the date of the
			 enactment of this Act.</text>
