<section id="H94D24F008CD749E4AF6ECD2EBD28E826" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Authority</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">Section 1703 of the Energy Policy Act of 2005 (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/42/16513">42 U.S.C. 16513</external-xref>) is amended by adding at the end the following new subsection:</text> 
<quoted-block style="OLC" id="HD537EF2D51DD4C9EB5F366E1A622DEF9" display-inline="no-display-inline"> 
<subsection id="H56C0C261787E4F33B5BF31C900A7CEDE"><enum>(f)</enum><header>Fuel efficient vehicle projects</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">The Secretary shall make guarantees under this title to motor vehicle manufacturers and suppliers in the United States for advanced conservation and fuel efficiency motor vehicle technology projects for the production of new motor vehicles that do not exceed 10,000 lbs. gross vehicle weight, including gasoline and diesel vehicles, flexible fuel vehicles, and hybrid electric vehicles, that reduce dependence on oil and the emissions of one or more greenhouse gases.</text></subsection><after-quoted-block>.</after-quoted-block></quoted-block></section> 
<section id="HCAF7EEE9D2624A95912C27B09B178953"><enum>2.</enum><header>Amount</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">Section 1702(c) of the Energy Policy Act of 2005 (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/42/16512">42 U.S.C. 16512(c)</external-xref>) is amended by adding at the end the following: <quote>In the case of advanced conservation and fuel efficiency motor vehicle technology projects under section 1703(f), the aggregate amount of guarantees under this title shall not exceed $20,000,000,000.</quote>. </text> </section>
