<official-title>To amend title 38, United States Code, to provide for the eligibility of Indian tribal organizations for grants for the establishment of veterans cemeteries on trust lands.</official-title>

<section section-type="section-one" id="H7AAE2A172A054A4F8B00BB4C09A52659" display-inline="no-display-inline"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the <quote><short-title>Native American Veterans Cemetery Act of 2005</short-title></quote>.</text></section> 
<section id="HF72240F8C57E46C0A9717236FC5579F2"><enum>2.</enum><header>Eligibility of Indian tribal organizations for grants for the establishment of veterans cemeteries on trust lands</header> <text display-inline="no-display-inline"><external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/38/2408">Section 2408</external-xref> of title 38, United States Code, is amended by adding at the end the following new subsection:</text>

<subsection id="HC364E09329314D6300D5D00CF16A35C"><enum>(f)</enum> 
<paragraph display-inline="yes-display-inline" id="H0BE23A79BB4D4F4700CECAF4C8D11355"><enum>(1)</enum><text>The Secretary may make grants under this subsection to any tribal organization to assist the tribal organization in establishing, expanding, or improving veterans’ cemeteries on trust land owned by, or held in trust for, the tribal organization.</text></paragraph> 
<paragraph indent="up1" id="H24968B883794433FB813DCF3E3386767"><enum>(2)</enum><text>Grants under this subsection shall be made in the same manner, and under the same conditions, as grants to States are made under the preceding provisions of this section.</text></paragraph> 
<paragraph indent="up1" id="HB3EBB580A8AC4F41B5F35EB7BDA47F19"><enum>(3)</enum><text>In this subsection:</text> 
<subparagraph id="H69D52E8F2E534433AC2300E2DC3ECB93"><enum>(A)</enum><text>The term <term>tribal organization</term> has the meaning given that term in <external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/38/3764">section 3764(4)</external-xref> of this title.</text></subparagraph> 
<subparagraph id="HAAB23E6A78B644139044413101833F3D"><enum>(B)</enum><text>The term <term>trust land</term> has the meaning given that term in <external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/38/3764">section 3764(1)</external-xref> of this title.</text></subparagraph></paragraph></subsection><after-quoted-block>.</after-quoted-block></quoted-block></section>
