		<section id="H5E20FFC53D9D498294007936091C3C45" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the
			 <quote><short-title>Intellectual Property Enhanced
			 Criminal Enforcement Act of 2006</short-title></quote>.</text>
		</section><section id="HE00E758F2F614A0B8261C3ECD9516B80" section-type="subsequent-section"><enum>2.</enum><header>Registration in civil
			 infringement actions</header>
			<subsection id="H49A72335407E4F5AAC493DBAC55872AF"><enum>(a)</enum><header>Limitation to
			 civil actions; protection of copyright claim with pending application; harmless
			 error</header><text><external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/17/411">Section 411</external-xref> of title 17, United States Code, is
			 amended—</text>
				<paragraph id="HA29ADC7222174B20B5BDF53B3223D166"><enum>(1)</enum><text>in the section
			 heading, by inserting <quote><header-in-text level="section" style="USC">civil</header-in-text></quote> before <quote><header-in-text level="section" style="USC">infringement</header-in-text></quote>;</text>
				</paragraph><paragraph id="HCB5DD52DF59D4608A2F151A8DCE3CD89"><enum>(2)</enum><text>in subsection
			 (a)—</text>
					<subparagraph id="HAB20CD1058324A9A8B4C244C504D4F07"><enum>(A)</enum><text>in the first
			 sentence, by striking <quote>no action</quote> and inserting <quote>no civil
			 action</quote>;</text>
					</subparagraph><subparagraph commented="no" id="H06D3145742E54D769CDA95C897E4DA5B"><enum>(B)</enum><text>in the second
			 sentence, by striking <quote>an action</quote> and inserting <quote>a civil
			 action</quote>; and</text>
					</subparagraph><subparagraph id="H985513E5CE5D4C09B916F2C480FE4383"><enum>(C)</enum><text>by inserting after
			 the first sentence the following: <quote>The receipt by the Copyright Office of
			 a deposit, application, and fee required for registration in proper form shall
			 suffice as registration of the copyright claim under this subsection.</quote>;</text>
					</subparagraph></paragraph><paragraph id="HC9357B667C8040BFBEEA02F2558FCAAE"><enum>(3)</enum><text>in subsection
			 (b)—</text>
					<subparagraph id="H6CA4FA4AD95246EEA0ECFFAE2C81BF8C"><enum>(A)</enum><text>by redesignating
			 that subsection as subsection (c); and</text>
					</subparagraph><subparagraph id="H7F73ABB12EAE498F9DBF79CA2EC4354F"><enum>(B)</enum><text>by striking
			 <quote>506 and sections 509 and</quote> and inserting <quote>505 and
			 section</quote>; and</text>
					</subparagraph></paragraph><paragraph id="HBD73C6220ADD49CDACC24CD5FA9B70E5"><enum>(4)</enum><text>by inserting after
			 subsection (a) the following new subsection:</text>
					<quoted-block display-inline="no-display-inline" id="HC303F6C1209E4BA3B0133F9D39EB8822" style="OLC">
						<subsection id="H14BA8A0A1E26444CB0FFF70000BF1462"><enum>(b)</enum><paragraph commented="no" display-inline="yes-display-inline" id="H1CB0746591B447BB880540614D7E06AA"><enum>(1)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">A certificate of registration satisfies the
				requirements of this section and section 412, regardless of whether the
				certificate contains any inaccurate information, unless—</text>
								<subparagraph id="H2A2E82C5BB2F429D877F661F5260B3A6" indent="up1"><enum>(A)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">the inaccurate information was included on
				the application for copyright registration with knowledge that it was
				inaccurate; and</text>
								</subparagraph><subparagraph id="H18C14D3063304F8900EBF9A0ACC6E93E" indent="up1"><enum>(B)</enum><text>the inaccurate information, if known,
				would have caused the Register of Copyrights to refuse registration.</text>
								</subparagraph></paragraph><paragraph id="H1452C936AF2F4328B2D0B2E89430123" indent="up1"><enum>(2)</enum><text>In any case in which inaccurate
				information described under paragraph (1) is alleged, the court shall request
				the Register of Copyrights to advise the court whether the inaccurate
				information, if known, would have caused the Register of Copyrights to refuse
				registration.’’;</text>
							</paragraph></subsection><after-quoted-block>.</after-quoted-block></quoted-block>
				</paragraph></subsection><subsection id="HE93C42B499F042C5BD3D0062769F00A"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Conforming
			 amendments</header>
				<paragraph id="H56B9272CF6EB4389B010F355C085D5C4"><enum>(1)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline"><external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/17/412">Section 412</external-xref> of title 17, United States
			 Code, is amended by striking ‘‘411(b)’’ and inserting ‘‘411(c)’’.</text>
				</paragraph><paragraph id="HE7EAE0DE298945F18E45614B64D1539"><enum>(2)</enum><text>The item relating
			 to section 411 in the table of sections for <external-xref legal-doc="usc-chapter" parsable-cite="usc-chapter/17/4">chapter 4</external-xref> of title 17, United
			 States Code, is amended to read as follows:</text>

				actions.</toc-entry>
						</toc>
						<after-quoted-block>.</after-quoted-block></quoted-block>
				</paragraph></subsection></section><section id="H59F26C80AA2A441D92005CFA34BC473F"><enum>3.</enum><header>Civil remedies
			 for infringement</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">Section
			 503(a) of title 17, United States Code, is amended—</text>
			<paragraph id="H21BE6488F9D14D44BD66D9556E576625"><enum>(1)</enum><text>by striking
			 <quote>and of all plates</quote> and inserting <quote>, of all plates</quote>;
			 and</text>
			</paragraph><paragraph id="HBAEF8B9FC6384DF3BD71B5646949B782"><enum>(2)</enum><text>by striking the
			 period and inserting <quote>, and of records documenting the manufacture, sale,
			 or receipt of items involved in such violation. The court shall enter an
			 appropriate protective order with respect to discovery of any records that have
			 been seized. The protective order shall provide for appropriate procedures to
			 assure that confidential information contained in such records is not
			 improperly disclosed to any party.</quote>.</text>
			</paragraph></section><section id="HBBFC0398086744D183E869409E7B003D"><enum>4.</enum><header>Statutory
			 damages</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">Section 504(c)(1) of
			 title 17, United States Code, is amended in the second sentence by inserting
			 before the period ‘‘, except that the court in its discretion may determine
			 that such parts are separate works if the court concludes that they are
			 distinct works having independent economic value’’.</text>
		</section><section id="HC1F7AAE94AED449886DB6EE3A3C6E8D"><enum>5.</enum><header>Criminal
			 infringement</header>
			<subsection id="H32B8CA61BE264DC49F941B70414B5465"><enum>(a)</enum><header>In
			 general</header><text><external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/17/506">Section 506(a)</external-xref> of title 17, United States Code, is
			 amended—</text>
				<paragraph id="HAA9E8F97597E475881C75EABE9CA0173"><enum>(1)</enum><text>by redesignating
			 paragraph (3) as paragraph (4); and</text>
				</paragraph><paragraph id="H67CB05C5EDF74230A4E54370A9CED39E"><enum>(2)</enum><text>by inserting after
			 paragraph (2) the following:</text>
					<quoted-block display-inline="no-display-inline" id="H6A9072E853D445C8B5D7150051A763D2" style="OLC">
						<paragraph id="H8E34C17A50904A3F97A0FC007BEC00C3"><enum>(3)</enum><header>Attempt and
				conspiracy</header>
							<subparagraph id="H78A96240E9514BB4BE4375B012E70986"><enum>(A)</enum><header>Attempt</header><text>Any
				person who attempts to commit an offense under paragraph (1) shall be subject
				to the same penalties as those prescribed for the offense, the commission of
				which was the object of the attempt.</text>
							</subparagraph><subparagraph id="H77D2F11BEB8143AF0023C6D4C78100A4"><enum>(B)</enum><header>Conspiracy</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">If two or more persons conspire to commit
				an offense under paragraph (1) and one or more of such persons do any act to
				effectuate the object of the conspiracy, each shall be subject to the same
				penalties as those prescribed for the offense, the commission of which was the
				object of the
				conspiracy.</text>
							</subparagraph></paragraph><after-quoted-block>.</after-quoted-block></quoted-block>
				</paragraph></subsection><subsection id="H8431E5AEB5E045A48366C1FDEE0074CF"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Forfeiture and
			 destruction; restitution</header><text><external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/17/506">Section 506(b)</external-xref> of title 17, United
			 States Code, is amended to read as follows:</text>
				<quoted-block display-inline="no-display-inline" id="HBC1D78307B1E47B7B6F31B0CB3C8615" style="OLC">
					<subsection id="HF90D62CEF73D45BD8770722278ABA1F2"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Forfeiture,
				destruction, and restitution</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">Forfeiture, destruction, and restitution
				relating to this section shall be subject to <external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/18/2323">section 2323</external-xref> of title 18, to the
				extent provided in that section, in addition to any other similar remedies
				provided by
				law.</text>
					</subsection><after-quoted-block>.</after-quoted-block></quoted-block>
			</subsection><subsection id="H09ED0BA15EBB4451A24B9D2F17745EF9"><enum>(c)</enum><header>Conforming
			 amendment</header><text><external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/17/509">Section 509</external-xref> of title 17, United States Code, and the
			 item relating to that section in the table of sections for chapter 5 of such
			 title, are repealed.</text>
			</subsection></section><section id="H70856DACA5234A9D98009B6C23914F34"><enum>6.</enum><header>Importation and
			 exportation</header>
			<subsection id="H500432ED3116494A8314DDB191B4F9AC"><enum>(a)</enum><header>Importation and
			 exportation of infringing items</header><text><external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/17/602">Section 602(a)</external-xref> of title 17,
			 United States Code, is amended—</text>
				<paragraph id="H304B87F033634EC7B6CEDFCA19C80026"><enum>(1)</enum><text>by redesignating
			 paragraphs (1), (2), and (3) as subparagraphs (A), (B), and (C);</text>
				</paragraph><paragraph id="H6A1DA84A1EF4434D999461E3C5F5C8B"><enum>(2)</enum><text>in
			 the first sentence, by striking <quote>Importation</quote> and inserting
			 <quote>(1) Importation</quote>;</text>
				</paragraph><paragraph id="HE744DB32F59746AD8F29C072304FD400"><enum>(3)</enum><text>by striking
			 <quote>106, actionable</quote> and inserting <quote>106 and is
			 actionable</quote>;</text>
				</paragraph><paragraph id="H49DDEB0C49C747189E909EBE6D93C41"><enum>(4)</enum><text>by
			 striking <quote>This subsection does not apply to—</quote> and inserting the
			 following:</text>
					<quoted-block display-inline="no-display-inline" id="HFF200D9EB4EC46D4AF34E4B24EDACA90" style="OLC">
						<paragraph id="H91C25E957EFD4EC78D6095F756DBDE83" indent="up1"><enum>(2)</enum><text>Importation into the United States or
				exportation from the United States, without the authority of the owner of
				copyright under this title, of copies or phonorecords, the making of which
				either constituted an infringement of copyright or would have constituted an
				infringement of copyright if this title had been applicable, is an infringement
				of the exclusive right to distribute copies or phonorecords under section 106
				and is actionable under sections 501 and 506.</text>
						</paragraph><paragraph id="H3AFBDC0EDC2B4F93973293B68CA15E48" indent="up1"><enum>(3)</enum><text>This subsection does not apply
				to—</text>
						</paragraph><after-quoted-block>;</after-quoted-block></quoted-block>
				</paragraph><paragraph id="HB3C0E6F6870B4234BFBCE4ADC2BD7DDB"><enum>(5)</enum><text>in subparagraph
			 (A), as redesignated, by inserting <quote>or exportation</quote> after
			 <quote>importation</quote>;</text>
				</paragraph><paragraph id="H274A371015C84218949181D53464E505"><enum>(6)</enum><text>in subparagraph
			 (B), as redesignated—</text>
					<subparagraph id="H3210D299E26C4B92A6221C9DAEF200D3"><enum>(A)</enum><text>by striking
			 <quote>, for the private use of the importer</quote> and inserting <quote>or
			 exportation, for the private use of the importer or exporter</quote>;
			 and</text>
					</subparagraph><subparagraph id="HA8C4A176D808422089989013F0B1D24E"><enum>(B)</enum><text>by inserting
			 <quote>or departing from the United States</quote> after <quote>outside the
			 United States</quote>.</text>
					</subparagraph></paragraph></subsection><subsection id="H2108210C2CA74F838E4BFE9BCDD16955"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Conforming
			 amendments</header><paragraph commented="no" display-inline="yes-display-inline" id="HD8D79A25440A4CEF92C650ECD516E41B"><enum>(1)</enum><text>The section heading for
			 <external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/17/602">section 602</external-xref> of title 17, United States Code, is amended by inserting
			 <quote><header-in-text level="section" style="USC">or
			 exportation</header-in-text></quote> after <quote><header-in-text level="section" style="USC">importation</header-in-text></quote>.</text>

		</section><section id="HE638E370699E4527B01D8E342229AFF"><enum>9.</enum><header>Fraud in
			 connection with access devices</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline"><external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/18/1029">Section 1029(e)(5)</external-xref> of title 18, United
			 States Code, is amended to read as follows:</text>

			 Economic Espionage Act</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">Section
			 1834 of title 18, United States Code, is amended to read as follows:</text>

				<section id="H97C60584CFC544308BB7EFFEC465E17"><enum>1834.</enum><header>Criminal
				forfeiture</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">Forfeiture,
				destruction and restitution relating to this chapter shall be subject to
				<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/18/2323">section 2323</external-xref> of title 18, to the extent provided in that section, in addition
				to any other similar remedies provided by
				law.</text>

			 counterfeit labels, illicit labels, or counterfeit documentation or packaging
			 for works that can be copyrighted</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline"><external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/18/2318">Section 2318</external-xref> of title 18, United States
			 Code, is amended as follows:</text>

			 Code, is amended as follows:</text>
			<paragraph id="HD320BBDD024B43EBAE181BAAC58E1596"><enum>(1)</enum><text>Subsection (a) is
			 amended—</text>

			 <quote>Any person</quote> and inserting <quote>(1) Any person</quote>;</text>

							</subparagraph><subparagraph id="H56FCA929348D4938AE2BF765EB013377" indent="up1"><enum>(B)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">If
				the offender knowingly or recklessly causes or attempts to cause death from
				conduct in violation of paragraph (1), the penalty shall be a fine under this
				title or imprisonment for any term of years or for life, or
				both.</text>
							</subparagraph></paragraph><after-quoted-block>.</after-quoted-block></quoted-block>
				</subparagraph></paragraph><paragraph id="HE09C585FA93A426680BC8E008003DA76"><enum>(2)</enum><text>Subsection (b) is
			 amended to read as follows:</text>

			</paragraph></section><section id="HAAADF535A06247E1A8BEA0DA4F00C796"><enum>16.</enum><header>Forfeiture,
			 destruction, and restitution</header>
			<subsection id="H283106D870BE47AE8557F15C41D24BAF"><enum>(a)</enum><header>In
			 general</header><text><external-xref legal-doc="usc-chapter" parsable-cite="usc-chapter/18/111">Chapter 111</external-xref> of title 18, United States Code, is amended
			 by adding at the end the following new section:</text>
				<quoted-block display-inline="no-display-inline" id="H4310F4D1E8DE4E37B9A001E68C68096" style="USC">
					<section id="H8C4F87B9167640DDAA95FABFE1E99C7E"><enum>2323.</enum><header>Forfeiture,
				destruction, and restitution</header>
						<subsection id="H043E20E677304F87AC0076C2750837F5"><enum>(a)</enum><header>Civil
				forfeiture</header>
							<paragraph id="HE815407A54FA4DC399E1F942A58D561B"><enum>(1)</enum><header>Property subject
				to forfeiture</header><text>The following property is subject to forfeiture to
				the United States:</text>
								<subparagraph id="H4949810CA7154B57845B12159E5F7D91"><enum>(A)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">Any infringing, counterfeit, illicit, or
				misappropriated article involved in an offense under section 506 or 1204 of
				title 17, or section 2318, 2319, 2319A, 2319B, or 2320, or chapter 90, of this
				title, or any article the making or trafficking of which is prohibited by any
				such section or chapter.</text>
								</subparagraph><subparagraph id="H1306C4FE725143240087556F0400CD1B"><enum>(B)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">Any property used, or intended to be used,
				in any manner or part to commit or facilitate the commission of an offense
				referred to in subparagraph (A).</text>
								</subparagraph><subparagraph id="H8D261DE7762041BC808EF15802919641"><enum>(C)</enum><text>Any property
				constituting or derived from any proceeds obtained directly or indirectly as a
				result of the commission of an offense referred to in subparagraph (A).</text>
								</subparagraph></paragraph><paragraph id="HE97C557FE1C343A49F4641F082B6895F"><enum>(2)</enum><header>Procedures</header><text>The
				provisions of chapter 46 relating to civil forfeitures shall extend to any
				civil forfeiture under this section. At the conclusion of the forfeiture
				proceedings, the court shall order that any property forfeited under paragraph
				(1) be destroyed, or otherwise disposed of according to law.</text>
							</paragraph></subsection><subsection id="H2B61BD2DD7E948D494B9B0C65599F632"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Criminal
				forfeiture</header>
							<paragraph id="HC82B228B78A04FADAF00F2F3C64EAAF"><enum>(1)</enum><header>Property subject
				to forfeiture</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">The court, in
				imposing sentence on a person convicted of an offense under section 506 or 1204
				of title 17, or section 2318, 2319, 2319A, 2319B, or 2320, or chapter 90, of
				this title, shall order, in addition to any other sentence imposed, that the
				person forfeit to the United States any property subject to forfeiture under
				subsection (a) for that offense.</text>
							</paragraph><paragraph display-inline="no-display-inline" id="H9EF3D596E5D046F1B4A900163E19D8CD"><enum>(2)</enum><header>Procedures</header>
								<subparagraph id="H4E966F823B2243DD8F54BA6DF59CD683"><enum>(A)</enum><header>In
				general</header><text>The forfeiture of property under paragraph (1), including
				any seizure and disposition of the property and any related judicial or
				administrative proceeding, shall be governed by the procedures set forth in
				section 413 of the Comprehensive Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Act of 1970
				(<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/21/853">21 U.S.C. 853</external-xref>), other than subsection (d) of that section.</text>
								</subparagraph><subparagraph id="HBE9E050C838E480180153F879074009D"><enum>(B)</enum><header>Destruction</header><text>At
				the conclusion of the forfeiture proceedings, the court—</text>
									<clause commented="no" id="H522F4AE1300046468E5D94769DB98800"><enum>(i)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">shall order the destruction of any
				forfeited article or component of an article bearing or consisting of a
				counterfeit mark; and</text>
									</clause><clause id="H722C7476AEAA4C428891745B121E2931"><enum>(ii)</enum><text>shall order the
				destruction or other lawful disposition of any infringing items or other
				property described in subsection (a)(1)(A) and forfeited under paragraph (1) of
				this subsection.</text>
									</clause></subparagraph></paragraph></subsection><subsection display-inline="no-display-inline" id="HB6A86506B5DD435AB100B34297614E54"><enum>(c)</enum><header>Restitution</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">When a person is convicted of an offense
				under section <external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/17/506">506</external-xref> or <external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/17/1204">1204</external-xref> of title 17 or section 2318, 2319, 2319A, 2319B, or
				2320, or chapter 90, of this title, the court, pursuant to section 3556 of this
				title, shall order the person to pay restitution to any victim of the offense
				as an offense against property referred to in section 3663A(c)(1)(A)(ii) of
				this
				title.</text>
						</subsection></section><after-quoted-block>.</after-quoted-block></quoted-block>
			</subsection><subsection id="H3834995E6888430CB428C6FA90806B24"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Conforming
			 amendment</header><text>The table of sections for <external-xref legal-doc="usc-chapter" parsable-cite="usc-chapter/18/111">chapter 111</external-xref> of title 18,
			 United States Code, is amended by adding at the end the following new
			 items:</text>

			</subsection></section><section display-inline="no-display-inline" id="HAA0C85A422D44FAF89ACD39F917E2B37" section-type="subsequent-section"><enum>17.</enum><header>Improved
			 investigative and forensic resources for enforcement of laws related to
			 intellectual property crimes</header>
			<subsection id="H638BFEAE65164C5888FA923B9DF2313C"><enum>(a)</enum><header>In
			 general</header><text>The Attorney General, in consultation with the Director
			 of the Federal Bureau of Investigation, shall, with respect to crimes related
			 to the theft of intellectual property—</text>
				<paragraph id="H09416C91F00C4640B451B9B963C718B9"><enum>(1)</enum><text>create an
			 operational unit of the Federal Bureau of Investigation—</text>
					<subparagraph id="H6B367B2311FB496DA0A2C1C132070400"><enum>(A)</enum><text>to work with the
			 Computer Crime and Intellectual Property section of the Department of Justice
			 on the investigation and coordination of intellectual property crimes that are
			 complex, committed in more than one judicial district, or international;</text>
					</subparagraph><subparagraph id="HA2B7DD530E2F483396B3DD94B87571FF"><enum>(B)</enum><text>that consists of
			 at least 10 agents of the Bureau; and</text>
					</subparagraph><subparagraph id="H97897C7FB838427FB2DB1497BD025DB7"><enum>(C)</enum><text>that is located at
			 the headquarters of the Bureau;</text>
					</subparagraph></paragraph><paragraph id="H6440FA90CF204688B5D3C4B2C4A4DED9"><enum>(2)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">ensure that any unit in the Department of
			 Justice responsible for investigating computer hacking or intellectual property
			 crimes is assigned at least 2 agents of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (in
			 addition to any agent assigned to such unit as of the date of the enactment of
			 this Act) to support such unit for the purpose of investigating or prosecuting
			 intellectual property crimes; and</text>
				</paragraph><paragraph id="HA74B189237184003A83920DFC5045F08"><enum>(3)</enum><text>implement a
			 comprehensive program—</text>
					<subparagraph id="HA1B10E8D5CFA4F8CB3564DF0269D15EE"><enum>(A)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">the purpose of which is to train agents of
			 the Federal Bureau of Investigation in the investigation and prosecution of
			 such crimes and the enforcement of laws related to intellectual property
			 crimes;</text>
					</subparagraph><subparagraph id="H99B3F48B440B4B469627D023F8B89BD6"><enum>(B)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">that includes relevant forensic training
			 related to investigating and prosecuting intellectual property crimes;
			 and</text>
					</subparagraph><subparagraph id="H04E545D464AE4B16B2A9DDA4FEFEBCBA"><enum>(C)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">that requires such agents who investigate
			 or prosecute intellectual property crimes to attend the program
			 annually.</text>
					</subparagraph></paragraph></subsection><subsection display-inline="no-display-inline" id="HDB3DDBA310D846ADB6B427399C7EC5D"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Intellectual
			 property law enforcement coordinators</header><text>Not later than 120 days
			 after the date of the enactment of this Act, the Attorney General shall assign
			 one Federal prosecutor to the appropriate office of the Department of Justice
			 located in Hong Kong and one Federal prosecutor to such an office located in
			 Budapest, Hungary, to assist in the coordination of the enforcement of
			 intellectual property laws between the United States and foreign
			 nations.</text>
			</subsection><subsection id="HA517B996C2E34D4C82F99F90A16FE7D"><enum>(c)</enum><header>Organized crime
			 task force</header><text>Not later than 120 days after the date of the
			 enactment of this Act, the Attorney General, through the United States
			 Attorneys’ Offices, the Computer Crime and Intellectual Property section, and
			 the Organized Crime and Racketeering section of the Department of Justice, and
			 in consultation with the Federal Bureau of Investigation and other Federal law
			 enforcement agencies, shall create a Task Force to develop and implement a
			 comprehensive, long-range plan to investigate and prosecute international
			 organized crime syndicates engaging in or supporting crimes relating to the
			 theft of intellectual property.</text>
			</subsection><subsection id="H029E08513B5D40E59BC3F8D0859860E5"><enum>(d)</enum><header>Authorization</header><text>There
			 are authorized to be appropriated to carry out this section $12,000,000 for
			 each of fiscal years 2007 through 2011.</text>
			</subsection></section><section display-inline="no-display-inline" id="H9A90E871B560476C874DD6EEEBEB00CA" section-type="subsequent-section"><enum>18.</enum><header>Additional funding
			 for resources to investigate and prosecute criminal activity involving
			 computers</header>
			<subsection id="HCA38C8EE513A4E47A394200041F2FEC2"><enum>(a)</enum><header>Additional
			 funding for resources</header>
				<paragraph id="HBD696B0E4DB04548A346B0D35E3D5C68"><enum>(1)</enum><header>Authorization</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">In addition to amounts otherwise authorized
			 for resources to investigate and prosecute criminal activity involving
			 computers, there are authorized to be appropriated for each of the fiscal years
			 2007 through 2011—</text>
					<subparagraph id="H0B5791E1739B43D1BB8FBC104F2C8F8"><enum>(A)</enum><text>$10,000,000 to the
			 Director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation; and</text>
					</subparagraph><subparagraph id="H00F6351AF3AF4090000008BF29361336"><enum>(B)</enum><text>$10,000,000 to the
			 Attorney General for the Criminal Division of the Department of Justice.</text>
					</subparagraph></paragraph><paragraph id="HD28D233BCB7B436EA26739D2EB75B9EB"><enum>(2)</enum><header>Availability</header><text>Any
			 amounts appropriated under
			 <internal-xref idref="HBD696B0E4DB04548A346B0D35E3D5C68" legis-path="9.(a)(1)">paragraph (1)</internal-xref> shall remain available
			 until expended.</text>
				</paragraph></subsection><subsection display-inline="no-display-inline" id="H75D7776C566246E7B9BBD38D029B493D"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Use of
			 additional funding</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">Funds made
			 available under
			 <internal-xref idref="H1AB1F9CAA6F44663B87079BB2BCB6CDD" legis-path="9.(a)">subsection (a)</internal-xref> shall be used by the Director
			 of the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Attorney General, for the
			 Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Criminal Division of the Department of
			 Justice, respectively, to—</text>
				<paragraph id="HC8A95D7872FC46B990ABD0623740F4F7"><enum>(1)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">hire and train law enforcement officers
			 to—</text>
					<subparagraph id="H2469380CD8E9409999285300674BEE25"><enum>(A)</enum><text>investigate crimes
			 committed through the use of computers and other information technology,
			 including through the use of the Internet; and</text>
					</subparagraph><subparagraph id="HFC8205D985A24F878E06861F210163D"><enum>(B)</enum><text>assist in the
			 prosecution of such crimes; and</text>
					</subparagraph></paragraph><paragraph id="HFF24AEBF69774A53886F9C533D4CFD02"><enum>(2)</enum><text>procure advanced
			 tools of forensic science to investigate, prosecute, and study such
			 crimes.</text>
