		<official-title>To amend section 1113 of the Social Security Act to
		  temporarily increase funding for the program of temporary assistance for United
		  States citizens returned from foreign countries, and for other
		  purposes.</official-title>

		<section id="HD694A77772494C4586F2892E72810019" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the <quote>Returned
			 Americans Protection Act of 2006</quote>.</text>
		</section><section display-inline="no-display-inline" id="H8DD4EB9E88B64F1688E7F008DEF7921"><enum>2.</enum><header>Temporary increase
			 in funding for the program of temporary assistance for United States citizens
			 returned from foreign countries</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">Section 1113(d) of the Social Security Act
			 (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/42/1313">42 U.S.C. 1313(d)</external-xref>) is amended by striking <quote>2003</quote> and inserting
			 <quote>2006</quote>.</text>
		</section><section id="H51AFFA5831F54AF2B797835BCBAB514E"><enum>3.</enum><header>Report by the
			 Inspector General</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">Not later
			 than March 1, 2007, the Inspector General of the Department of Health and Human
			 Services, shall submit to the Committee on Ways and Means of the House of
			 Representatives and the Committee on Finance of the Senate a written report
			 describing how funds made available to carry out section 1113 of the Social
			 Security Act have been used to provide assistance to United States citizens
			 returned to the United States on or after July 20, 2006, and before the most
			 recent date covered by the report, after evacuation from Lebanon, including a
			 breakdown of program costs incurred with regard to repatriating individuals
			 from Lebanon, including for (1) direct assistance to individuals (such as costs
			 of domestic travel and short-term lodging), and (2) administrative costs (such
			 as for caseworkers, security, and related expenses).</text>
		</section><section id="H5A44A0173C4142AEB2296039E720C2DB"><enum>4.</enum><header>Continuation of
			 repatriation program through fiscal year 2007</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">Section 1113 of the Social Security Act (42
			 U.S.C. 1313) is amended by adding at the end the following:</text>
			<quoted-block display-inline="no-display-inline" id="H65759CC53E374CC087FC005785497B85" style="OLC">
				<subsection id="H02856F71EC5D406A91E2301FB73BB600"><enum>(f)</enum><text>The authorities
				provided by this section shall expire on September 30,
				2007.</text>
