		<official-title>To prohibit the Secretary of Homeland Security from
		  paroling into the United States an alien who falls ill while seeking admission
		  at a port of entry or seeks emergency medical assistance by approaching an
		  agent or official of the Department of Homeland Security at or near a
		  border.</official-title>

		<section id="H20300842C87646879747D449C3CB0602" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Prohibition on use of parole
			 power to provide medical assistance to aliens at a border</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">Section 212(d)(5) of the Immigration and
			 Nationality Act (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/8/1182">8 U.S.C. 1182(d)(5)</external-xref>) is amended by adding at the end the
			 following:</text>
			<quoted-block display-inline="no-display-inline" id="H7E26775BFA684967B1E91E511500D062" style="traditional">
				<subparagraph display-inline="no-display-inline" id="H3DDDCDF64F094F7700D2738632F149F7" indent="up2"><enum>(C)</enum><text>The Secretary of Homeland Security
				may not parole into the United States an alien solely because the alien—</text>
					<clause id="H084F8DC8E6D148909FD85B55711D9033"><enum>(i)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">falls ill while seeking admission, or
				waiting to seek admission, at a port of entry into the United States; or</text>
					</clause><clause id="H7AB7A7AFE8EA4001B098277744B548D3"><enum>(ii)</enum><text>approaches an agent or official of
				the Department of Homeland Security at or near the border in order to seek
				emergency medical
				assistance.</text>
