		<official-title>To amend section 245(i) of the Immigration and
		  Nationality Act to extend the special adjustment of status to certain aliens
		  currently in the United States who are married to United States citizens and
		  parents of a United States citizen child.</official-title>

		<section id="H3FBC5B4D1BDC4BD9B43803385551334B" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Adjustment of status for
			 certain aliens currently in the United States who are married to United States
			 citizens and parents of a United States citizen child</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">Section 245(i) of the Immigration and
			 Nationality Act (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/8/1255">8 U.S.C. 1255(i)</external-xref>) is amended by adding at the end the
			 following new paragraph:</text>
			<quoted-block display-inline="no-display-inline" id="HE56BFE47030E453AA6D1E3CA40CAC768" style="traditional">
				<paragraph id="HBEB9FA4D96994DB6A84B61831C3B379D"><enum>(4)</enum><subparagraph commented="no" display-inline="yes-display-inline" id="H7D7C840894AC4B89A7397B5F7CC9D0B2"><enum>(A)</enum><text>In the case of an alien
				described in subparagraph (B)—</text>
						<clause id="HAF163BC0417249A3827E351C50E94D34" indent="up1"><enum>(i)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">paragraph (1)(B)(i) shall be applied by
				substituting <quote>the date that is 6 months after the date of the enactment
				of paragraph (4)</quote> for <quote>April 30, 2001</quote>; and</text>
						</clause><clause id="H10E07E365D264DD7ABD4A34792BAD263" indent="up1"><enum>(ii)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">paragraph (1)(C) shall be applied by
				substituting <quote>June 1, 2006</quote> for <quote>the date of the enactment
				of the LIFE Act Amendments of 2000</quote>.</text>
						</clause></subparagraph><subparagraph id="H026AA69758914252009D70C83CBF94AF" indent="up1"><enum>(B)</enum><text>An alien described in this
				subparagraph is an alien—</text>
						<clause id="HD727F99BF6B6418D8CBA27D7F3D3F753"><enum>(i)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">who is married to a citizen of the United
				States and who is able to affirmatively demonstrate to the satisfaction of the
				Secretary of Homeland Security such marital status through the production of a
				certified copy of the alien’s marriage certificate;</text>
						</clause><clause id="HBBDA6BCE140C46F3B827B2A757DA6300"><enum>(ii)</enum><text>who is the biological parent of a
				child who is a citizen of the United States, who was born before June 1, 2006;
				and</text>
						</clause><clause id="HCD370B1EE12649FAB99B69E58B686C09"><enum>(iii)</enum><text>with respect to whom the
				Secretary determines that it is in the best interest of the child described in
				clause (ii) for the alien to be permitted to remain in the United States as a
				lawful permanent
				resident.</text>
