		<official-title>To amend title 17, United States Code, to provide for the
		  partial distribution of royalty fees in certain circumstances.</official-title>

		<section id="HA869E1237FE6419BA4A64FBA92CBA25D" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the <quote>Royalty
			 Distribution Clarification Act of 2006</quote>.</text>
		</section><section id="HF0DF7DB3ADCE46708180BAE9FCE88E8"><enum>2.</enum><header>Partial
			 distribution of royalty fees</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline"><external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/17/801">Section 801(b)(3)(C)</external-xref> of title 17, United
			 States Code, is amended—</text>
			<paragraph id="H28D1A8E433AC424295C8B5A99ED52A6"><enum>(1)</enum><text>by
			 striking all that precedes clause (i) and inserting the following:</text>
				<quoted-block display-inline="no-display-inline" id="HFE8002ED0D6249FAB3343474597885AC" style="OLC">
					<subparagraph id="HA14756D258A24F40AB9FB17CBDC09F1E" indent="up1"><enum>(C)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">Notwithstanding section 804(b)(8), the
				Copyright Royalty Judges, at any time after the filing of claims under section
				111, 119, or 1007, may, upon motion of one or more of the claimants and after
				publication in the Federal Register of a request for responses to the motion
				from interested claimants, make a partial distribution of such fees, if, based
				upon all responses received during the 30-day period beginning on the date of
				such publication, the Copyright Royalty Judges conclude that no claimant
				entitled to receive such fees has stated a reasonable objection to the partial
				distribution, and all such claimants—</text>
					</subparagraph><after-quoted-block>;
				and</after-quoted-block></quoted-block>
			</paragraph><paragraph id="HEE37A608B313409AAB00B97815102400"><enum>(2)</enum><text>in clause (i), by
			 striking <quote>such</quote> and inserting <quote>the</quote>.</text>
