<section section-type="section-one" id="H0B566C4A7DB44ED9A0F9E849782B0081" display-inline="no-display-inline"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the <quote><short-title>Solid Waste Compact Act</short-title></quote>.</text></section> 
<section id="HDE96BAD329F443EBA2B3AFDA294BA947"><enum>2.</enum><header>Authority to prohibit importation of solid waste</header> 
<subsection id="HDCC5C76AA4C1421E83C78F66768004F"><enum>(a)</enum><header>Amendment</header><text>Subtitle D of the <act-name parsable-cite="SWDA">Solid Waste Disposal Act</act-name> (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/42/6941">42 U.S.C. 6941 et seq.</external-xref>) is amended by adding at the end the following new section:</text>

<section id="H11F0062A333F4569AB45F7ED058813EA"><enum>4011.</enum><header>Authority to prohibit importation of solid waste</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">A State whose State plan has been approved under section 4007 may prohibit the importation into that State of solid waste from outside that State.</text></section><after-quoted-block>.</after-quoted-block></quoted-block></subsection>

<subsection id="H862D30A8CA9646E1B1369D95F7A8E417"><enum>(a)</enum><header>Amendment</header><text>Subtitle A of the <act-name parsable-cite="SWDA">Solid Waste Disposal Act</act-name> (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/42/6901">42 U.S.C. 6901 et seq.</external-xref>) is amended by adding at the end the following new section:</text>

<section id="H156E18C8647C448EB12503F3E99D1D56"><enum>1009.</enum><header>Alternative solid waste disposal methods</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">The Administrator shall, in consultation with the States and other interested persons, identify innovative alternative solid waste disposal methods, and establish and publish technical guidance regarding the implementation of such methods. Within one year after the date of the enactment of this section, and from time to time subsequently as warranted by changing circumstances, the Administrator shall transmit to the Congress a report summarizing the Administrator’s activities under this section.</text></section><after-quoted-block>.</after-quoted-block></quoted-block></subsection>
