<official-title>To amend title 18, United States Code, to strengthen enforcement of spousal court-ordered property distributions, and for other purposes.</official-title>

<section id="HCCCE3786254D46B093A28DBDB0FD19" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the <quote><short-title>Jane’s Law</short-title></quote>.</text></section> 
<section id="H2E70943974E743C6B46F738664D0817B"><enum>2.</enum><header>Spousal obligations</header> 
<subsection id="HFA028A9C959947F496E47EAF2216F788"><enum>(a)</enum><header>In General</header><text>Chapter 11(A) of title 18, United States Code, is amended by adding at the end the following:</text>

<section id="H16B69DF6B30C443AB0CE61ACDC691E87"><enum>3.</enum><header>Failure to pay legal spousal court-ordered property distribution</header> 
<subsection id="H4F418E34D18D4A2EBB489BE8B65D7002"><enum>(a)</enum><header>Offense</header><text>Whoever knowingly, travels in interstate or foreign commerce, with the intent to evade compliance with a court ordered property distribution as part of a separation or divorce settlement involving more than $5000, with respect to a spouse or former spouse, shall be fined under this title or imprisoned for not more than two years or both.</text></subsection> 
<subsection id="HAF39A24015EF4F2595BE03BC6E99F7C2"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Mandatory Restitution</header><text>Upon a conviction under this section, the court shall order restitution under section 3663A in an amount equal to the total unpaid property distribution.</text></subsection> 
<subsection id="H9AD3738049C247C990CAF691FD65BE4E"><enum>(c)</enum><header>Definition</header><text>The term <quote>court ordered property distribution</quote> means any amount determined under a court order pursuant to the law of a State or of an Indian tribe to be due from a spouse or former spouse as an equitable or other distribution to a spouse or former spouse of assets in connection with a separation or divorce.</text></subsection></section><after-quoted-block>.</after-quoted-block></quoted-block> </subsection> 
<subsection id="HA2C9937992884522961312827B58FD3E"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Conforming amendment to table of sections</header><text>The table of sections at the beginning of chapter 11(A) of title 18, United States Code, is amended by adding at the end the following new item:</text>
