<section id="H152AD71F54EE4F058E1628C863A5E826" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the <quote><short-title>Impact Aid Update Act of 2006</short-title></quote>.</text></section> 
<section id="H678F5F67EC0C482EA300A58C00922D60"><enum>2.</enum><header>Limitation on Impact Aid special payments</header> 
<subsection id="H001CB6DCC6714AAEA11788CD65EBE54"><enum>(a)</enum><header>In general</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">Section 8002 of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act of 1965 (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/20/77002">20 U.S.C. 77002</external-xref>) is amended in subsection (i)(1)—</text> 
<paragraph id="HC38DEB9B957C4C18980068B962EA5200"><enum>(1)</enum><text>by striking <quote>1997</quote> and inserting <quote>2003</quote>; and</text></paragraph> 
<paragraph id="H97F2DBD6E7B04658839533B77CAA5043"><enum>(2)</enum><text>by striking <quote>1996)</quote> and inserting <quote>2002)</quote>.</text></paragraph></subsection> 
<subsection id="H922C62768BC648AC85006EA100FE63F6"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Special Rules for Fiscal 2006</header> 
<paragraph id="H2F6CE210D0334AA4B020B17C7E3EB138"><enum>(1)</enum><header>Retroactive applicability</header><text>The amendments made by this section apply retroactively to all of fiscal year 2006.</text></paragraph> 
<paragraph id="H9AF2FD89CD5C426FB805F2FFA5DF2334"><enum>(2)</enum><header>Availability of certain fiscal 2005 funds</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">Notwithstanding any other provision of law, the Secretary of Education shall make available a total of $1,800,000 from the funds appropriated for fiscal year 2005 under the heading <quote>Vocational and Adult Education</quote> in <external-xref legal-doc="public-law" parsable-cite="pl/108/447">Public Law 108–447</external-xref> that are otherwise available, to increase the payment made to the local educational agency of Highland Falls, New York, under subsection (i) of section 8002 of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act of 1965 (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/20/7702">20 U.S.C. 7702</external-xref>) for fiscal year 2006. </text> </paragraph></subsection></section>
