<section id="H143C004664764EE596007695DABD2FA" section-type="section-one" display-inline="no-display-inline"><enum>1.</enum><header>Transfer of U.S.S. IOWA</header>
<subsection id="HD5E06B8E1B464013B7EC2E04459CBC81"><enum>(a)</enum><header>Waiver of requirement for continued listing on Naval Vessel Register</header><text>The provisions of the following laws do not apply with respect to the U.S.S. IOWA (BB–61):</text>
<paragraph id="H0AE7F1A1119440C6B1481C3F5DE538F3"><enum>(1)</enum><text>Section 1011 of the National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 1996 (<external-xref legal-doc="public-law" parsable-cite="pl/104/106">Public Law 104–106</external-xref>; 110 Stat. 421).</text></paragraph>
<paragraph id="HAE9982B0444842D3928F0098F400708B"><enum>(2)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">Section 1011 of the Strom Thurmond National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 1999 (<external-xref legal-doc="public-law" parsable-cite="pl/105/261">Public Law 105–261</external-xref>; 112 Stat. 2118).</text></paragraph></subsection>
<subsection id="H3EFB48916E824E759DA7CDF46B0462ED"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Transfer</header><text>The Secretary of the Navy shall—</text>
<paragraph id="H613A2AD368D24E0A9149F95EC3FBD228"><enum>(1)</enum><text>strike the U.S.S. IOWA (BB–61) from the Naval Vessel Register; and</text></paragraph>
<paragraph id="HAF1929AFAEB3487FA059C87114728539"><enum>(2)</enum><text>subject to the submission of a donation application for that vessel that is satisfactory to the Secretary, transfer that vessel to the Port of Stockton, California, subject to subsections (b) and (c) of <external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/10/7306">section 7306</external-xref> of title 10, United States Code.</text></paragraph></subsection></section>
