Consistent cost-sharing requirements under emergency watershed protection program

Section 102 of title I of division B of Public Law 109–148 (119 Stat. 2748) is amended— (1)by redesignating subsections (c) and (d) as subsections (d) and (e), respectively; and (2)by inserting after subsection (b) the following new subsection (c): (c)

Waiver or reduction of cost-share requirement

The Secretary of Agriculture may waive or reduce the non-Federal cost share requirement imposed by subsection (b) in cases in which the Secretary determines that immediate action is or was required for environmental or safety concerns and the local partner cannot or could not financially participate..
