<section section-type="section-one" id="HFF619C507D414AEDA086E9AEA534687B" display-inline="no-display-inline"><enum>1.</enum><header>Immediate relative status for Karen Poppell</header> 
<subsection id="H03DB385953A24F26860047ED2C000264"><enum>(a)</enum><header>In general</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">Karen Poppell shall be classified as an immediate relative within the meaning of section 201(b)(2)(A)(i) of the <act-name parsable-cite="INA">Immigration and Nationality Act</act-name> for purposes of approval of a relative visa petition filed under section 204 of such Act by Karen Poppell and the filing of an application for an immigrant visa or for adjustment of status.</text></subsection> 
<subsection id="H7CC72CFB2F4E47E79B22A8EBAEA16C03"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Adjustment of status</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">If Karen Poppell enters the United States before the filing deadline specified in subsection (c), she shall be considered to have entered and remained lawfully and shall, if otherwise eligible, be eligible for adjustment of status under section 245 of the <act-name parsable-cite="INA">Immigration and Nationality Act</act-name> as of the date of the enactment of this Act.</text></subsection> 
<subsection id="HDEC9303A38E34FB9A4B55D5687851283"><enum>(c)</enum><header>Deadline for application and payment of fees</header><text>Subsections (a) and (b) shall apply only if the petition and the application for issuance of an immigrant visa or the application for adjustment of status are filed with appropriate fees within 2 years after the date of the enactment of this Act.</text></subsection> 
<subsection id="HF90FA189EDAE4BAB9D74584FC7B4A310"><enum>(d)</enum><header>Reduction of immigrant visa number</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">Upon the granting of an immigrant visa or permanent residence to Karen Poppell, the Secretary of State shall instruct the proper officer to reduce by 1, for the following fiscal year, the total number of immigrant visas available under section 201(c)(1)(A) of the <act-name parsable-cite="INA">Immigration and Nationality Act</act-name>.</text></subsection> 
<subsection id="H588E66CA3EB54239BBA97067D02155CB"><enum>(e)</enum><header>Denial of preferential immigration treatment for certain relatives</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">The natural parents, brothers, and sisters of Karen Poppell shall not, by virtue of such relationship, be accorded any right, privilege, or status under the <act-name parsable-cite="INA">Immigration and Nationality Act</act-name>.</text></subsection></section>
