<official-title>To amend <external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/18/1368">section 1368</external-xref> of title 18, United States Code, to include rescue dogs in its protection.</official-title>

<section id="HAD3CE7FD481F4F688359D1F82E7DF792" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the <quote><short-title>Canine Volunteer Protection Act of 2006</short-title></quote>.</text></section> 
<section id="HB1667DD35F414D5DBD520030840007D4"><enum>2.</enum><header>Definition of <quote>police animal</quote> for the purposes of <external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/18/1368">section 1368</external-xref> of title 18, United States Code</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline"><external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/18/1368">Section 1368(b)</external-xref> of title 18, United States Code, is amended—</text> 
<paragraph id="HAB5B6DA9D0004FB8825F11F45CA74EE9"><enum>(1)</enum><text>by inserting <quote>or commissioned</quote> after <quote>employed</quote>; and</text></paragraph> 
<paragraph id="H4A77FCF43095403800D78E3E55B3F707"><enum>(2)</enum><text>by inserting <quote>or participating in search and rescue missions</quote> after <quote>criminal offenders</quote>. </text> </paragraph></section>
