<section id="H513CE27DA78B4F838FEE5F5E42814996" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the <quote><short-title>Secure Telephone Operations Act of 2006</short-title></quote>.</text></section> 
<section id="H78B4497A313E42E5B320C058D66D433B"><enum>2.</enum><header>Sale of telephone customer proprietary network information</header> 
<subsection id="H1BBF769EE19343D58603A1A65CF857E5"><enum>(a)</enum><header>Prohibition</header><text>Chapter 88 of title 18, United States Code, is amended by adding at the end the following:</text>

<section id="H0A51A5CA7C2D4D26B6AF8C4823165DCE"><enum>1802.</enum><header>Sale of telephone customer proprietary network information</header> 
<subsection id="H189F294B49B548C6B83696E3BC0000F1"><enum>(a)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">Whoever knowingly sells telephone customer proprietary network information shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than 10 years, or both.</text></subsection> 
<subsection id="H30CCD2E36DE14F608FDFA133325D73CA"><enum>(b)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">In this section, the term <quote>telephone customer proprietary network information</quote> means customer proprietary network information as that term is defined in section 222 of the Communications Act of 1934.</text></subsection></section><after-quoted-block>.</after-quoted-block></quoted-block></subsection> 
<subsection id="H35D6658D1C1F4DCD85F3D04E460197F5"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Clerical amendment to table of sections</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">The table of sections at the beginning of chapter 88 of title 18, United States Code, is amended by adding at the end the following new item:</text>
