		<official-title display="yes">To amend the Reclamation Wastewater and
		  Groundwater Study and Facilities Act to authorize the Secretary of the Interior
		  to participate in the Los Angeles County Water Supply Augmentation
		  Demonstration Project, and for other purposes.</official-title>

		<section display-inline="no-display-inline" id="H971B9A0C781E4A03AA6B47CE00D2041B" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Authorization of Los Angeles
			 county water supply augmentation demonstration project</header>
			<subsection id="H6C74EF3D49454F26BF4D626FD510AD94"><enum>(a)</enum><header>In
			 general</header><text>The Reclamation Wastewater and Groundwater Study and
			 Facilities Act (<external-xref legal-doc="public-law" parsable-cite="pl/102/575">Public Law 102–575</external-xref>, title XVI;
			 43 U.S.C. 390h et
			 seq.) is amended by adding at the end the following:</text>
				<quoted-block id="H57261C7712CB455E8B9ECF36127820DC" style="OLC">
					<section id="HB1EF40A4325247F2BC6B236ED1F2FBF8"><enum>16__.</enum><header>Los Angeles
				county water supply augmentation demonstration project</header>
						<subsection id="H6841AF8165B24D7CB690E88DFB06B009"><enum>(a)</enum><header>In
				general</header><text>The Secretary of the Interior, in cooperation with the
				Los Angeles and San Gabriel Rivers Watershed Council, is authorized to
				participate in the planning, design, construction, and assessment of a
				neighborhood demonstration project to—</text>
							<paragraph id="HB0A90E78FDDF44AA97E5AC03E9E88990"><enum>(1)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">demonstrate the potential for infiltration
				of stormwater runoff to recharge groundwater by retrofitting one or more sites
				in the Los Angeles area with features designed to reflect state-of-the-art best
				management practices for water conservation, pollution reduction and treatment,
				and habitat restoration; and</text>
							</paragraph><paragraph id="H672BC95291AC40089424E250C39EC449"><enum>(2)</enum><text>through
				predevelopment and postdevelopment monitoring, assess—</text>
								<subparagraph id="H8850F86F11C043888415A600B0E9A279"><enum>(A)</enum><text>the potential new
				water supply yield based on increased infiltration; and</text>
								</subparagraph><subparagraph id="HCC078CFD1ED24354AE4E4DA3A7C9226B"><enum>(B)</enum><text>the value of the
				new water.</text>
								</subparagraph></paragraph></subsection><subsection id="H73901C1596234233B3B4C6E17E69E015"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Cost
				sharing</header><text>The Federal share of the cost of the project described in
				subsection (a) shall not exceed 25 percent of the total cost of the
				project.</text>
						</subsection><subsection id="H87B9F32B72F646BB8BCAD93DF2A93C3C"><enum>(c)</enum><header>Limitation</header><text>No
				Federal funds shall be used for the operation and maintenance of the project
				described in subsection (a). For purposes of this subsection, pre- and
				post-development monitoring for not more than 2 years before and after project
				installation for project assessment purposes shall not be considered operation
				and maintenance.</text>
						</subsection><subsection id="H1FB1C0F63A6E48B298B598143558334D"><enum>(d)</enum><header>Sunset of
				authority</header><text>- The authority of the Secretary to carry out any
				provisions of this section shall terminate 10 years after the date of the
				enactment of this
				section.</text>
						</subsection></section><after-quoted-block>.</after-quoted-block></quoted-block>
			</subsection><subsection id="H1CCB046AFB6C4597BA2E291955B68C18"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Clerical
			 amendment</header><text>The table of sections in section 2 of
			 Public Law
			 102–575 is amended by inserting after the item relating to
			 section 16__ the following:</text>
