<official-title>To amend the Immigration and Nationality Act to authorize a case-by-case waiver of certain naturalization requirements for children of members of the Armed Forces who are adopted outside the United States.</official-title>

<section id="H400824B688DF4980003000DA901D62C8" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Authorization of waiver of certain naturalization requirements for children of members of the Armed Forces who are adopted outside the United States</header> 
<subsection id="H35918C5890C04A5383E560D19760EF2"><enum>(a)</enum><header>In general</header><text>Section 322 of the Immigration and Nationality Act (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/8/1433">8 U.S.C. 1433</external-xref>) is amended by adding at the end the following new subsection:</text>

<subsection id="H4CD4BE645C884802B042BCADA243195C"><enum>(d)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">In the case of a child who is adopted outside the United States by a member of the Armed Forces who at the time of adoption is stationed outside the United States, the Secretary of Homeland Security may waive on a case-by-case basis the following requirements insofar as the member’s service outside the United States may prevent the satisfaction of such requirements:</text> 
<paragraph id="H37F1DC8A3169422991BCBA9B1EF16132"><enum>(1)</enum><text>Paragraphs (3), (4), and (5) of subsection (a).</text></paragraph> 
<paragraph id="H8CAAF0A35F2141BCB547BC99D3E73587"><enum>(2)</enum><text>Subsection (b), insofar as it requires the taking and subscribing the oath of allegiance within the United States.</text></paragraph></subsection><after-quoted-block>.</after-quoted-block></quoted-block></subsection> 
<subsection id="H6B2678D759344DA2A2CFF333F360C715"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Effective date</header><text>The amendment made by subsection (a) shall apply to children adopted before, on, or after the date of the enactment of this Act.</text> </subsection></section>
