<section id="HA08E6F17B1C548798E69EE3F29A25C00" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Amendment to claim for abatement, remission, or refund for distilled spirits returned to bonded premises of distilled spirits plant</header> 
<subsection id="H496E91892397444780E032A233EA8C69"><enum>(a)</enum><header>In general</header><text>Subsection (c) of <external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/26/5008">section 5008</external-xref> of the Internal Revenue Code of 1986 (relating to distilled spirits returned to bonded premises) is amended by adding at the end the following new paragraph:</text>

<paragraph id="HC5D08B9812014428A437F9C52434B0B3"><enum>(3)</enum><header>Claim amendment</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">A claim filed pursuant to paragraph (2) may be amended by the claimant not later than 12 months after the date of filing or 12 months after the date of enactment of this paragraph, whichever is later, for the limited purpose of correcting an error which resulted in a failure by the claimant to claim the full amount of abatement, remission, or refund to which the claimant is entitled under paragraph (1).</text></paragraph><after-quoted-block>.</after-quoted-block></quoted-block></subsection> 
<subsection id="H0ADABE7B81C747D38C64E62D02BAF3FD"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Effective date</header><text>The amendment made by this section shall apply to claims filed on or after January 1, 2002.</text> </subsection></section>
