<section section-type="section-one" id="H832502CB64824200AD62119EE5EBCA1" display-inline="no-display-inline"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the <quote><short-title>HIPAA Recreational Injury Technical Correction Act</short-title></quote>.</text></section> 
<section id="HCFCB74A2D3694643A25384C150A0559C"><enum>2.</enum><header>Coverage amendments</header> 
<subsection id="HEF970FA346B24241AA387F82A6D75A3"><enum>(a)</enum><header>ERISA</header><text>Section 702(a)(3) of the <act-name parsable-cite="ERISA">Employee Retirement Income Security Act of 1974</act-name> (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/29/1182">29 U.S.C. 1182(a)(3)</external-xref>) is amended—</text> 
<paragraph id="H29F0E7154D614C0CBE8BCC23E0E53DE8"><enum>(1)</enum><text>by striking “<header-in-text level="paragraph" style="OLC">Construction</header-in-text>.—For” and inserting the following: “<header-in-text level="paragraph">Scope</header-in-text>.—</text>

<subparagraph id="HE9A7E5E8D1324A47003B61328DA5C432"><enum>(B)</enum><header>Limitation on denial of benefits</header><text>For purposes of paragraph (2), a group health plan, or a health insurance issuer offering group health insurance coverage in connection with a group health plan, may not deny benefits otherwise provided under the plan or coverage for the treatment of an injury solely because such injury resulted from the participation of the individual in a legal mode of transportation or a legal recreational activity.</text></subparagraph><after-quoted-block>.</after-quoted-block></quoted-block></paragraph></subsection> 
<subsection id="H2D29FAD06C48447DB2D903A4F5F10625"><enum>(b)</enum><header>PHSA</header><text>Section 2702(a)(3) of the <act-name parsable-cite="PHSA">Public Health Service Act</act-name> (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/42/300gg-1">42 U.S.C. 300gg–1(a)(3)</external-xref>) is amended—</text>
