<official-title>To amend the Robert T. Stafford Disaster Relief and Emergency Assistance Act to ensure that evacuation procedures are included as a part of State and local emergency preparedness operational plans.</official-title>

<section id="HFB10DA80B699457FA1E7C0181E2DE5E4" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the <quote><short-title>Planning for Evacuations of People in Life-Threatening Emergencies Act</short-title></quote>. </text></section>
<section id="HA0C91E0E65384C71A7DC68384425402F"><enum>2.</enum><header>State and local evacuation procedures</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">Section 613 of the Robert T. Stafford Disaster Relief and Emergency Assistance Act (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/42/5196b">42 U.S.C. 5196b(b)</external-xref>) is amended—</text> 
<paragraph id="H1B38225739EE43148CD83F58746BC044"><enum>(1)</enum><text>by redesignating subsection (g) as subsection (h); and</text></paragraph> 
<paragraph id="H9EED38C64830425481DAC6F5F82B44F2"><enum>(2)</enum><text>by inserting after subsection (f) the following:</text>

<subsection id="HD8F450BA412D4679ABBC00DC9DFB1509"><enum>(g)</enum><header>Standards for State and local emergency preparedness operational plans</header><text>In approving standards for State and local emergency preparedness operational plans pursuant to subsection (b)(3), the Director shall ensure that such plans include procedures for evacuating individuals from an area in preparation for anticipated hazards.</text></subsection><after-quoted-block>.</after-quoted-block></quoted-block> </paragraph></section>
