<section id="HAF310A4704D94D90BAE1E8059827BC36" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the <quote><short-title>Hire Veterans Act of 2004</short-title></quote>.</text></section> 
<section id="H18C03CC27AA24D6492574920DF1E758B"><enum>2.</enum><header>Extension of operation of the President’s National Hire Veterans Committee</header> 
<subsection id="H63D9F2FB40A94C4AA4E2C4371CE75E7F"><enum>(a)</enum><header>Three-year extension</header><text>Subsection (f) of section 6 of the Jobs for Veterans Act (<external-xref legal-doc="public-law" parsable-cite="pl/107/288">Public Law 107–288</external-xref>; 116 Stat. 2048) is amended by striking <quote>December 31, 2005</quote> and inserting <quote>December 31, 2008</quote>.</text></subsection> 
<subsection id="H99FA67BFD3704D22A3D24D8E419E345C"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Additional funding</header><text>Such section is further amended by adding at the end the following new subsection:</text> 
<quoted-block style="OLC" id="H3DD4A867D2014F5B93CB3151D6E030B" display-inline="no-display-inline"> 
<subsection id="HFFD206FB4CAA4C578BBA077E6C39A421"><enum>(h)</enum><header>Funding for fiscal years 2006 through 2008</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">From amounts made available to the Secretary of Labor in each of fiscal years 2006, 2007, and 2008 for the activities of disabled veterans' outreach program specialists appointed under <external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/38/4103A">section 4103A</external-xref> of title 38, United States Code, and local veterans' employment representatives assigned under section 4104 of such title, 0.5 percent of such amounts in each such fiscal year shall be made available to the Secretary to carry out this section.</text></subsection><after-quoted-block>.</after-quoted-block></quoted-block></subsection> 
<subsection id="H5C82FA7987434BB18689D1F953CFFD6E"><enum>(c)</enum><header>Addtional reports</header><text>Subsection (e) of such section is amended by striking <quote>and 2005,</quote> and inserting <quote>2005, 2006, 2007, and 2008,</quote>.</text> </subsection></section>
