<official-title>To authorize the Secretary of the Army to evaluate, construct, operate, and maintain capital improvements to the Intracoastal Waterway, Delaware River to Chesapeake Bay, Delaware and Maryland (Chesapeake and Delaware Canal) for public recreation.</official-title>

<section id="H7FBC4F3B032B4AC9A7C728CC57CBFADB" section-type="section-one" display-inline="no-display-inline"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the <quote><short-title>Chesapeake and Delaware Canal Recreation Authorization Act</short-title></quote>.</text></section> 
<section id="HFA03636BC8014DA5978F1558754996AD"><enum>2.</enum><header>Intracoastal waterway</header> 
<subsection id="H03927E07C5794B78BD5E265FC289A4E4"><enum>(a)</enum><header>Agreements</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">The Secretary of the Army shall enter into, with the consent of appropriate local and State entities, arrangements, contracts, and leases with public, private, and nonprofit entities as may be necessary to evaluate, construct, operate, and maintain capital improvements for recreational use of the Intracoastal Waterway, Delaware River to Chesapeake Bay, Delaware and Maryland (Chesapeake and Delaware Canal) and its related facilities, and to provide security for the canal and its related facilities.</text></subsection> 
<subsection id="HAD20EFC8A8EC409E8D609745FAA22EF8"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Federal share</header><text>The Federal share of the cost of capital improvements under this section shall be 50 percent. Operation and maintenance costs shall be at full Federal expense.</text></subsection> 
<subsection id="H94B9FE76AADE40A9933370111BE761AB"><enum>(c)</enum><header>Credit for design and construction work</header><text>The Secretary of the Army shall credit toward the non-Federal share of the cost of the project design and construction work carried out by the non-Federal interest before the date of an agreement if the Secretary determines that such work is integral to the project.</text></subsection> 
<subsection id="H7F43DB71BC8B4D14B6B231E02F1CAAE"><enum>(d)</enum><header>Authorization of appropriations</header><text>There is authorized to be appropriated to carry out this section $10,000,000. Such sums shall remain available until expended.</text></subsection></section>
