		  repairs and lease space without approval of a prospectus if the repair or lease
		  is required as a result of damages to buildings or property attributable to
		  Hurricane Katrina or Hurricane Rita.</official-title>

		<section id="H1DA568226EAD465086210398E5F5FE9" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Authority of GSA to make
			 repairs and lease space in response to damages attributable to Hurricane
			 Katrina or Hurricane Rita</header>
			<subsection id="HDE92175F4D4743E9BAFDB29E9BFDBDB0"><enum>(a)</enum><header>In
			 general</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">In carrying out
			 duties under <external-xref legal-doc="usc-chapter" parsable-cite="usc-chapter/40/33">chapter 33</external-xref> of title 40, United States Code, the Administrator of
			 General Services may (1) repair a public building, (2) repair any building, or
			 part of the building, that is under lease by the Federal Government for use for
			 a public purpose, and (3) lease space for use for a public purpose, without
			 approval of a prospectus under section 3307(a) of such title, if the lease or
			 repair is required as a result of damages to buildings or property attributable
			 to Hurricane Katrina or Hurricane Rita.</text>
			</subsection><subsection id="HE3E341B3443449378B515F34331C72EB"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Repairs</header>
				<paragraph id="H938849DF9BB0461CB1507DFAF9AAB9F7"><enum>(1)</enum><header>Initial
			 reports</header><text>At least 5 days before entering into an agreement to make
			 a repair under subsection (a), the Administrator shall submit to the Committee
			 on Transportation and Infrastructure of the House of Representatives and the
			 Committee on Environment and Public Works of the Senate a report on the repair,
			 including—</text>
					<subparagraph id="H619F6017CF754936876B49C64EF34DBA"><enum>(A)</enum><text>a brief
			 description of the building to be repaired;</text>
					</subparagraph><subparagraph id="H50C71AE4A7DE44E9B3A46AA07F52D2"><enum>(B)</enum><text>a description of the
			 repair to be performed;</text>
					</subparagraph><subparagraph id="H1C331E2665064415BB55DC9EDAFEAEB7"><enum>(C)</enum><text>an estimate of the
			 total cost of the repair; and</text>
					</subparagraph><subparagraph id="H78D5DA9ACF7644B7BD83E05C296443B4"><enum>(D)</enum><text>an estimate of the
			 date of completion of the repair.</text>
					</subparagraph></paragraph><paragraph id="H2D2BE225A0414B08BC2C05A25093234D"><enum>(2)</enum><header>Final
			 reports</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">Not later than 15
			 days after completing a repair under subsection (a), the Administrator shall
			 submit to the Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure of the House of
			 Representatives and the Committee on Environment and Public Works of the Senate
			 a report on the repair, including—</text>
					<subparagraph id="H30359BE3FF2644CDB10162A86BAF8C68"><enum>(A)</enum><text>a detailed
			 description of the activities carried out in making the repair; and</text>
					</subparagraph><subparagraph id="H51C4042742B547F79D52535C5E00E7D9"><enum>(B)</enum><text>a statement
			 identifying the total cost of the repair.</text>
					</subparagraph></paragraph></subsection><subsection id="HADF23E4B72B543C18CD11247C5378C48"><enum>(c)</enum><header>Leases</header>
				<paragraph id="H1AA3BFAD31E844AE959E81BF35D4F86E"><enum>(1)</enum><header>Lease
			 term</header><text>A lease agreement entered into under subsection (a) shall be
			 for a term of 5 years or less.</text>
				</paragraph><paragraph id="HD1C3B95CBC9A4CEA8F077D75411D6225"><enum>(2)</enum><header>Reports</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">Not later than 10 days after entering into
			 a lease agreement under subsection (a), the Administrator shall submit to the
			 Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure of the House of Representatives
			 and the Committee on Environment and Public Works of the Senate a report on the
			 lease, including—</text>
					<subparagraph id="H4B421D9BF91D4280A490A7EDEC29A892"><enum>(A)</enum><text>a statement
			 identifying the location of the leased space;</text>
					</subparagraph><subparagraph id="H04EC5F4D62CE4CC9B52D6D79A5A0A5F8"><enum>(B)</enum><text>a statement
			 identifying the square footage of the leased space;</text>
					</subparagraph><subparagraph id="HC9664B94239147A48B56D500A9831FBF"><enum>(C)</enum><text>a statement
			 identifying the cost of the lease; and</text>
					</subparagraph><subparagraph id="HB4A3BC39175846D68C43DCCC00B59EA"><enum>(D)</enum><text>a statement
			 identifying the agency that will occupy the leased space and describing where
			 the agency was previously located.</text>
					</subparagraph></paragraph></subsection></section><section id="H429D4A21E4AA4491BA39DD586214328B"><enum>2.</enum><header>Expiration of
			 authority</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">The authority
			 provided by this Act to enter into an agreement for a repair or lease shall
			 cease to be effective on the day that is one year after the date of enactment
			 of this Act.</text>
