<official-title>To revise and extend the National Police Athletic League Youth Enrichment Act of 2000.</official-title>

<section id="HE31902CB16ED4CB193BED8A92DCBA002" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the <quote><short-title>National Police Athletic League (PAL) Youth Enrichment Reauthorization Act of 2005</short-title></quote>. </text></section> 
<section id="H37ED569C16664058998469D51B77764B"><enum>2.</enum><header>Public Law 106-367</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">Section 1 of <external-xref legal-doc="public-law" parsable-cite="pl/106/367">Public Law 106–367</external-xref> (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/42/13751">42 U.S.C. 13751</external-xref> note) is amended by striking <quote>2000</quote> and inserting <quote>2005</quote>.</text> </section> 
<section id="H720DBA6730E648FF805C8E4CAE38EFE2"><enum>3.</enum><header>Name of League</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">Public Law 106-367 (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/42/13751">42 U.S.C. 13751</external-xref> note) is amended by striking <quote>Athletic</quote> each place such term appears and inserting <quote>Athletic/Activities</quote>. </text></section> 
<section id="HE68BC78D94C742AA818EF3E2AA10046"><enum>4.</enum><header>Findings</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">Section 2 of <external-xref legal-doc="public-law" parsable-cite="pl/106/367">Public Law 106–367</external-xref> (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/42/13751">42 U.S.C. 13751</external-xref> note) is amended—</text>

<section id="H98C46C6225F2437F9FB98C67793958D2"><enum>5.</enum><header>Purpose</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">Section 3 of <external-xref legal-doc="public-law" parsable-cite="pl/106/367">Public Law 106–367</external-xref> (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/42/13751">42 U.S.C. 13751</external-xref> note) is amended—</text> 
<paragraph id="HCA2A760D5E5245BEBD583C644500ADDC"><enum>(1)</enum><text>in paragraph (1), by striking <quote>320</quote> and inserting <quote>342</quote>;</text></paragraph> 
<paragraph id="HA65A4E3C99284D5C9186AC31C8D8AB68"><enum>(2)</enum><text>in paragraph (2), by striking <quote>2006</quote> and inserting <quote>2010</quote>; and</text></paragraph>

<section id="HBA3876FDA460472D9CBE1CEE002B1F6E"><enum>6.</enum><header>Definitions</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">Section 4(4) of <external-xref legal-doc="public-law" parsable-cite="pl/106/367">Public Law 106–367</external-xref> (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/42/13751">42 U.S.C. 13751</external-xref> note) is amended in the heading for paragraph (4) by striking <header-in-text level="paragraph" style="OLC"><quote>Athletic</quote></header-in-text> and inserting <header-in-text level="paragraph" style="OLC"><quote>Athletic/Activities</quote></header-in-text>.</text> </section> 
<section id="HD9120A61EC584C3B92C3805B792C9600"><enum>7.</enum><header>Grants Authorized</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">Section 5 of <external-xref legal-doc="public-law" parsable-cite="pl/106/367">Public Law 106–367</external-xref> (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/42/13751">42 U.S.C. 13751</external-xref> note) is amended—</text> 
<paragraph id="HDE72D9C1543843F59FE9A4014E3C103C"><enum>(1)</enum><text>in subsection (a), by striking <quote>2001 through 2005</quote> and inserting <quote>2006 through 2010</quote>; and</text> </paragraph> 
<paragraph id="H3A9EC8A34B75478F945DB446CE9100CF"><enum>(2)</enum><text>in subsection (b)(1), in subparagraph (B), by striking <quote>[not less than] 570 PAL chapters in operation before January 1, 2004</quote> and inserting <quote>[not fewer than] 500 PAL chapters in operation before January 1, 2010</quote>.</text> </paragraph></section>

<paragraph id="HD7B2204DB7A44EC99900C2C472887C1"><enum>(1)</enum><text>in the matter preceding subparagraph (A), by striking <quote>four</quote> and inserting <quote>two</quote>; and</text> </paragraph>

<section id="H7816755E12C44638B327D32D743F38E9"><enum>10.</enum><header>Effective date</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">The amendments made by this Act take effect October 1, 2005, or upon the date of the enactment of this Act, whichever occurs later. </text> </section>
