<section id="HCC927797CA6F44BE8439AA1E008BC888" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Compensation for jury service to be excluded in determining income under the SSI program</header> 
<subsection id="HABF8DF5ECF5946EA9084267ED79C4217"><enum>(a)</enum><header>Income exclusion</header><text>Section 1612(b) of the Social Security Act (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/42/1382a">42 U.S.C. 1382a(b)</external-xref>) is amended—</text> 
<paragraph id="HCD4387C5F14F431BAF8943EEF2796732"><enum>(1)</enum><text>by striking <quote>and</quote> at the end of paragraph (22);</text></paragraph> 
<paragraph id="HCAC669B3827F4524A9001D2149512971"><enum>(2)</enum><text>by striking the period at the end of paragraph (23) and inserting <quote>; and</quote>; and</text></paragraph> 
<paragraph id="H7A5D294CA1E145828D12A07085012D51"><enum>(3)</enum><text>by adding at the end the following:</text>

<paragraph id="H35CED902554448C30029E452D9060B2"><enum>(24)</enum><text>any amount received by such individual (or such spouse) from any public agency as compensation for jury service.</text></paragraph><after-quoted-block>.</after-quoted-block></quoted-block></paragraph></subsection> 
<subsection id="H0BD41961C00A479ABB4657E998E676BB"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Effective date</header><text>The amendments made by subsection (a) shall take effect on the 1st day of the 1st calendar month that begins after the date of the enactment of this Act.</text> </subsection></section>
