<official-title>To require proper and accurate labeling for products identified, described or sold as <quote>chamois</quote>.</official-title>

<section id="H69CDF9007CEC4CB79173C8C2864DEE3D" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the <quote><short-title>Chamois Truthful Labeling Act of 2005</short-title></quote>. </text></section> 
<section id="HCAF2E3FF651441C19D319C512128427E"><enum>2.</enum><header>Labeling, identification, and sale of chamois products</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">It shall be unlawful for any person to—</text> 
<paragraph id="HDEFD772726E44B80B57EA639585B6E54"><enum>(1)</enum><text>describe a product in commerce in the United States as consisting of <quote>chamois</quote>, <quote>shammy</quote>, <quote>genuine chamois</quote>, or an equivalent, or</text></paragraph> 
<paragraph id="HFCD485131D6C494E823DF23C98870074"><enum>(2)</enum><text>label or identify a drying or polishing product as <quote>chamois</quote>, <quote>shammy</quote>, <quote>genuine chamois</quote>, or an equivalent,</text></paragraph><continuation-text continuation-text-level="subsection">unless the product consists of the inner split of a sheepskin which has been tanned in 100 percent fish oil. </continuation-text></section> 
<section id="H366A00F76AD14193AEEDC14321B5613"><enum>3.</enum><header>Private right of action</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">A person who is aggrieved by a violation of this Act may bring in any court of appropriate jurisdiction an action to enjoin such violation or for such equitable relief as may be appropriate, incuding costs and reasonable attorneys’ fees.</text> </section>
