<official-title>To amend the Robert T. Stafford Disaster Relief and Emergency Assistance Act to ensure that State and local emergency preparedness operational plans address the needs of individuals with household pets and service animals following a major disaster or emergency.</official-title>

<section id="H2A095C7B5C7B44069100E45D8EC9D606" section-type="section-one" display-inline="no-display-inline"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the <quote><short-title>Pets Evacuation and Transportation Standards Act of 2005</short-title></quote>. </text></section> 
<section id="HDBB4280BB1934C08B5DDD7FEA396369C"><enum>2.</enum><header>Standards for State and local emergency preparedness operational plans</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">Section 613 of the Robert T. Stafford Disaster Relief and Emergency Assistance Act (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/42/5196b">42 U.S.C. 5196b</external-xref>) is amended—</text> 
<paragraph id="HB60F4554038945BC87704326FF794DCA"><enum>(1)</enum><text>by redesignating subsection (g) as subsection (h); and</text></paragraph> 
<paragraph id="HD55CA47D3CD84F45ABFF5C7015B8DFDB"><enum>(2)</enum><text>by inserting after subsection (f) the following: </text>

<subsection id="HF2337C9DB3EC4D4EBBFA5DE755523061"><enum>(g)</enum><header>Standards for State and local emergency preparedness operational plans</header><text>In approving standards for State and local emergency preparedness operational plans pursuant to subsection (b)(3), the Director shall ensure that such plans take into account the needs of individuals with household pets and service animals following a major disaster or emergency.</text></subsection><after-quoted-block>.</after-quoted-block></quoted-block></paragraph></section>
