<official-title>To ensure that communities are prepared for evacuation in case of a major disaster.</official-title>

<section id="HAE5FA9A0C9C045E781075D9DF796FFBD" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the <quote><short-title>American Evacuation Planning Act</short-title></quote>.</text></section> 
<section id="H55917AEFF01947F0A96F685F47EADB70" section-type="subsequent-section"><enum>2.</enum><header>Evacuation Preparation</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">Section 507(a)(2) of the Homeland Security Act (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/6/317">6 U.S.C. 317</external-xref>) is amended—</text> 
<paragraph id="HCE985C22F9D74F5D997800D426B4BA7C"><enum>(1)</enum><text>by redesignating subparagraphs (C), (D), and (E) as (D), (E), and (F), respectively; and</text></paragraph> 
<paragraph id="H815F99D587E840B8AED367E5DB7B18ED"><enum>(2)</enum><text>by inserting after subparagraph (B) the following:</text>

<subparagraph id="H2260F37A7AB1424BBD98F9375C8EDEEE"><enum>(C)</enum><text>of preparing communities and individuals, particularly individuals with special needs (including low-income individuals and families, the homeless, the elderly, and individuals who do not understand English), for evacuation from a major disaster by coordinating with State and local governments in preparing or improving community evacuation plans and encouraging individuals to establish a personal plan to reduce the harm to individuals, businesses, and governments from such disaster; </text></subparagraph><after-quoted-block>.</after-quoted-block></quoted-block> </paragraph></section>
