<official-title>To prohibit certain abortions.</official-title>

<section section-type="section-one" id="H22C33A13AE2647B591671076F8607800" display-inline="no-display-inline"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the <quote><short-title>Late Term Abortion Restriction Act</short-title></quote>.</text></section> 
<section id="H42640B9BE5234F1FB949B2C543BCE796"><enum>2.</enum><header>Prohibition on certain abortions</header> 
<subsection id="H1FB795B1C6524CF7BADC8CDA67D65F5"><enum>(a)</enum><header>In general</header><text>It shall be unlawful, in or affecting interstate or foreign commerce, knowingly to perform an abortion after the fetus has become viable.</text></subsection> 
<subsection id="HA70EED64FA96422386F4FC9C2B2EE299"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Exception</header><text>This section does not prohibit any abortion if, in the medical judgment of the attending physician, the abortion is necessary to preserve the life of the woman or to avert serious adverse health consequences to the woman.</text></subsection> 
<subsection id="H26D0D8A50BD94A258BB3FA03BC180031"><enum>(c)</enum><header>Civil penalty</header><text>A physician who violates this section shall be subject to a civil penalty not to exceed $10,000. The civil penalty provided by this subsection is the exclusive remedy for a violation of this section.</text></subsection></section>
