<official-title>To permanently prohibit the conduct of offshore drilling on the outer Continental Shelf off the State of Florida, and for other purposes.</official-title>

<section id="H4702436757D2489B832BC47396621E8F" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the <quote><short-title>Florida Coastline Protection Act of 2005</short-title></quote>.</text></section> 
<section section-type="subsequent-section" id="H01CE91D4BE774C22A0D08500C43F903D" display-inline="no-display-inline"><enum>2.</enum><header>Prohibition of oil and gas leasing in certain areas of the outer Continental Shelf</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">Section 8 of the Outer Continental Shelf Lands Act (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/43/1337">43 U.S.C. 1337</external-xref>) is amended by adding at the end the following:</text>

<subsection id="HAC8D3C54B36D45F5B4E78C1516FC3DD2"><enum>(p)</enum><header>Prohibition of oil and gas leasing in certain areas of the outer Continental Shelf</header><text>Notwithstanding any other provision of this section or any other law, the Secretary of the Interior shall not issue a lease for the exploration, development, or production of oil, natural gas, or any other mineral in—</text> 
<paragraph id="HA42B61C0A7F7465BB143CB0089A3595"><enum>(1)</enum><text>the eastern Gulf of Mexico planning area;</text></paragraph> 
<paragraph id="H42E6E02295F44A64BA7221F6BE0509A7"><enum>(2)</enum><text>the Straits of Florida planning area; or</text></paragraph> 
<paragraph id="H7FF7BEC8C4E2457400760055BAD660B5"><enum>(3)</enum><text>the South Atlantic planning area, extending from the Straits of Florida planning area to the border between the States of Florida and Georgia.</text></paragraph></subsection><after-quoted-block>.</after-quoted-block></quoted-block></section>
