<section id="HD5A255FB35B64C779ED66230DFFE700" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the <quote><short-title>Clarification of Federal Employment Protections Act</short-title></quote>.</text></section> 
<section id="H5909AA5FCFB64CDABC257B8FBE729CD6"><enum>2.</enum><header>Discrimination on the basis of sexual orientation prohibited</header> 
<subsection id="H737E15618FED4DE285B51BBCA009B5C"><enum>(a)</enum><header>Repudiation</header><text>In order to dispel any public confusion, Congress hereby repudiates any assertion that Federal employees are not protected from discrimination on the basis of sexual orientation.</text></subsection> 
<subsection id="HC453DE1C404449F0A75066AA00F0BED3"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Affirmation</header><text>It is the sense of Congress that, in the absence of the amendment made by subsection (c), discrimination against Federal employees and applicants for Federal employment on the basis of sexual orientation is prohibited by <external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/5/2302">section 2302(b)(10)</external-xref> of title 5, United States Code.</text></subsection> 
<subsection id="HDAFFBF19328E461AB600A4FF5829039B"><enum>(c)</enum><header>Amendment</header><text><external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/5/2302">Section 2302(b)(1)</external-xref> of title 5, United States Code, is amended—</text> 
<paragraph id="HD40F2AA6FB014310A163A0D35BA29535"><enum>(1)</enum><text>by striking <quote>or</quote> at the end of subparagraph (D);</text></paragraph> 
<paragraph id="HE268FBEDF13343539F7696757D24D088"><enum>(2)</enum><text>by inserting <quote>or</quote> at the end of subparagraph (E); and</text></paragraph> 
<paragraph id="H47D131D33AB44CEF9E8FFB553DCA15E8"><enum>(3)</enum><text>by adding at the end the following:</text>
