<section id="H10FF05228D1F48FA9647E8B4872A216" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Definition of affected area to include additional downwind area exposed to radiation</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">Section 4(b)(1) of the Radiation Exposure Compensation Act (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/42/2210">42 U.S.C. 2210</external-xref> note) is amended—</text> 
<paragraph id="HBE288FA36F48441EAAA5E0D2BDE1E2D"><enum>(1)</enum><text>by striking <quote>and</quote> at the end of subparagraph (B); and</text></paragraph>
<paragraph id="H0278F755DE86442B91CB3C1017668E48"><enum>(2)</enum><text>by adding at the end the following:</text> 
<quoted-block style="OLC" id="H4BCB3ED3DA274248A45D04A5009C16E7"> 
<subparagraph id="HECD75168BB2644C6964737F9056D4888"><enum>(D)</enum><text>the Territory of Guam; and</text></subparagraph> <after-quoted-block>.</after-quoted-block></quoted-block></paragraph></section> 
<section id="H7701FECC222C4B1B82A06F3E5FC7CB3E"><enum>2.</enum><header>Eligibility to file a claim based on presence during period of testing</header> 
<subsection id="HADFCA85A7F954B3FB19FD11900AB338C"><enum>(a)</enum><header>Claims relating to leukemia</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">Section 4(a)(1)(A)(i) of the Radiation Exposure Compensation Act (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/42/2210">42 U.S.C. 2210</external-xref> note) is amended—</text> 
<paragraph id="H4D8242763BFE41DEBB006F2D494B1E2B"><enum>(1)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">in subclauses (I) and (II), by inserting <quote>described in subparagraph (A), (B), or (C) of subsection (b)(1)</quote> after <quote>affected area</quote>; </text></paragraph> 
<paragraph id="H41A31541BFE944F9B0B85DBC1EE0058"><enum>(2)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">in subclause (II)—</text> 
<subparagraph id="H343BF9A09A184A6CAE55F9FA68942F1B" display-inline="no-display-inline"><enum>(A)</enum><text>by striking <quote>in the</quote> before <quote>affected area</quote> and inserting <quote>in an</quote>; and </text></subparagraph> 
<subparagraph id="HED85156BB0A043BCBFA91013B4B2F3B1"><enum>(B)</enum><text>by striking <quote>or</quote> at the end;</text></subparagraph></paragraph> 
<paragraph id="H09E5F7E31C3C4CEA89B234AA30A0EBF"><enum>(3)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">by redesignating subclause (III) as subclause (V); and </text></paragraph> 
<paragraph id="HE235760286794C829031FF4809A4C270"><enum>(4)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">by inserting after subclause (II) the following:</text>

<subclause id="HD2A6FE9426D94224A376AAD3B0EB5021"><enum>(III)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">was physically present in the affected area described in subsection (b)(1)(D) for a period of at least 1 year during the period beginning on June 30, 1946, and ending on August 18, 1958;</text></subclause> 
<subclause id="HF916757523D44A2DBC36502D2B572FC"><enum>(IV)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">was physically present in the affected area described in subsection (b)(1)(D) for the period beginning on April 25, 1962, and ending on November 4, 1962; or</text></subclause><after-quoted-block>.</after-quoted-block></quoted-block></paragraph></subsection> 
<subsection id="H47ED3354E76042C48DCF75BAB66382C"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Claims relating to specified diseases</header><text>Section 4(a)(2) of the Radiation Exposure Compensation Act (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/42/2210">42 U.S.C. 2210</external-xref> note) is amended—</text> 
<paragraph id="HB9640E0BD5B24842A6D12BA253B77048"><enum>(1)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">in subparagraphs (A) and (B)—</text> 
<subparagraph id="HB58D64F49B6649D48F798965CBA0AE87"><enum>(A)</enum><text>by striking <quote>in the</quote> before <quote>affected area</quote> and inserting <quote>in an</quote>; and</text></subparagraph> 
<subparagraph id="H91CCBC0B091F4078888D867988FB44D1"><enum>(B)</enum><text>by inserting <quote>described in subparagraph (A), (B), or (C) of subsection (b)(1)</quote> after <quote>affected area</quote>;</text></subparagraph></paragraph> 
<paragraph id="HB8FFA15C96ED43DCB6C834B134A9E56"><enum>(2)</enum><text>in subparagraph (B), by striking <quote>or</quote> at the end;</text></paragraph> 
<paragraph id="HC719D8162AEE4ED996DF6902ED5BB13E"><enum>(3)</enum><text>by redesignating subparagraph (C) as subparagraph (E); and</text></paragraph> 
<paragraph id="H882FE18F2DB749C3B41359803875A0A8"><enum>(4)</enum><text>by inserting after subparagraph (B) the following:</text>

<subparagraph id="H007B0AE968824422B788DBA4B1E0C3A"><enum>(D)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">was physically present in the affected area described in subsection (b)(1)(D) for the period beginning on April 25, 1962, and ending on November 4, 1962, or</text></subparagraph> <after-quoted-block>.</after-quoted-block></quoted-block></paragraph></subsection></section>

<subsection id="HA9A7B33A5B9D4D4EA6AF26F6C6A72191"><enum>(a)</enum><header>Claims relating to Leukemia</header><text>Section 4(a)(1) of the Radiation Exposure Compensation Act (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/42/2210">42 U.S.C. 2210</external-xref> note) is amended—</text> 
<paragraph id="H4B4D0F89663F4257A37B7856DBD9BC4D"><enum>(1)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">in subparagraphs (A)(ii)(I) and (B)(i), by striking <quote>in subclause (I) or (II)</quote> and inserting <quote>in subclause (I), (II), (III), or (IV)</quote>;</text></paragraph> 
<paragraph id="HEFDC1939ADFD4F238EE4AAACBEACD4C7"><enum>(2)</enum><text>in subparagraph (A)(ii)(I), by striking <quote>in clause (i)(III)</quote> and inserting <quote>in clause (i)(V)</quote>; and</text></paragraph>

<paragraph id="H447532449FB94030B776763C92722DEE"><enum>(2)</enum><text>by striking <quote>in subparagraph (C))</quote> and inserting <quote>in subparagraph (E))</quote>.</text></paragraph></subsection> 
<subsection id="HA24EF1B03F404E79A0F0E2A1891FF450"><enum>(c)</enum><header>Determination and payment of claims</header><text>Section 6 of the Radiation Exposure Compensation Act (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/42/2210">42 U.S.C. 2210</external-xref> note) is amended—</text> 
<paragraph id="H2FAC7D6D76BE4AB5945277220003B67F"><enum>(1)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">in subsections (b)(2)(C) and (c)(2)(B), by striking <quote>under section 4(a)(2)(C)</quote> and inserting <quote>under section 4(a)(2)(E)</quote>; and</text></paragraph> 
<paragraph id="H0E503E83140F47D1B76B69A5ABB308B"><enum>(2)</enum><text>in subsections (c)(2)(A) and (e), by striking <quote>or (a)(2)(B) of section 4</quote> each place that it appears and inserting <quote>(a)(2)(B), (a)(2)(C), or (a)(2)(D) of section 4</quote>.</text></paragraph></subsection> </section>
