<official-title>To provide for the transmission to congressional committees of certain reports pertaining to international human rights law or related laws in connection with military detainees.</official-title>

<section id="H30F75EE52FAC43E9ACF0DFDA60259C81" section-type="section-one" display-inline="no-display-inline"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the <quote><short-title>Detainee Treatment Accountability Act</short-title></quote>.</text></section> 
<section id="H6E924968B391413695CBA5FFC97B232C"><enum>2.</enum><header>Transmission to congressional committees of certain reports pertaining to international human rights law or related laws in connection with military detainees</header> 
<subsection id="HCB29EBF5C02F49AFAC402FE6696E87B1"><enum>(a)</enum><header>Requirement</header><text>Within 15 days of receipt of a report described in subsection (b), the Secretary of Defense shall transmit a copy of the report to each of the congressional committees specified in subsection (c). Any such report shall be provided on a confidential basis if such confidentiality is required by the entity providing the report to the Department of Defense.</text></subsection> 
<subsection id="H16D6F500352643FD91D39E64C899B6B2"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Covered reports</header><text>A report referred to in subsection (a) is any report provided to the Department of Defense on a confidential or exclusive basis by an entity outside the United States Government that pertains to treatment of detainees in custody of Department of Defense personnel held at any location in the world in connection with any armed conflict, including the war on terror.</text></subsection> 
<subsection id="H457CF8AE88CB44A08210087E377FFC12"><enum>(c)</enum><header>Specified committees</header><text>The congressional committees referred to in subsection (a) are the following:</text>

<paragraph id="H9D7D60F31D7E441EB280E57928F29300"><enum>(2)</enum><text>The Committee on Armed Services and the Committee on International Relations of the House of Representatives.</text></paragraph></subsection></section>
