<section section-type="section-one" id="HD981F565FB2341DCBE95D8C3230E675" display-inline="no-display-inline"><enum>1.</enum><header>Exemption from two-year waiting period for divorced spouse’s benefits following the divorce in cases of prior receipt of spouse’s benefits</header> 
<subsection id="H71FBDCDE8790437F89443F77C5F5B506"><enum>(a)</enum><header>Wife’s insurance benefits</header><text>Section 202(b)(5)(A) of the <act-name parsable-cite="SSA">Social Security Act</act-name> (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/42/402">42 U.S.C. 402(b)(5)(A)</external-xref>) is amended by striking <quote>divorced wife—</quote> and all that follows through <quote>shall be entitled</quote> and inserting <quote>divorced wife meets the requirements of subparagraphs (A) through (D) of paragraph (1), shall be entitled</quote>.</text></subsection> 
<subsection id="H69BAF2C3CCFC490EB6402706ABCC7E78"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Husband’s insurance benefits</header><text>Section 202(c)(5)(A) of such Act (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/42/402">42 U.S.C. 402(c)(5)(A)</external-xref>) is amended by striking <quote>divorced husband—</quote> and all that follows through <quote>shall be entitled</quote> and inserting <quote>divorced husband meets the requirements of subparagraphs (A) through (D) of paragraph (1), shall be entitled</quote>.</text></subsection> 
<subsection id="H30FAEA475CA64C2EBA368E0025917B68"><enum>(c)</enum><header>Exemption from deductions on account of work</header><text>Section 203(b)(2) of such Act (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/42/403">42 U.S.C. 403(b)(2)</external-xref>) is amended—</text> 
<paragraph id="HF26C6D418F1C4F47B12D693BFF77F223"><enum>(1)</enum><text>by striking <quote>(2)(A) Except as</quote> and all that follows through <quote>the benefit to which</quote> and inserting the following: <quote>(2) In any case in which any of the other persons referred to in paragraph (1)(B) is entitled to monthly benefits as a divorced spouse under subsection (b) or (c) of section 202 for any month, the benefit to which</quote>; and</text></paragraph> 
<paragraph id="H1DC59B87A56B4FBA837355AC03F5E587"><enum>(2)</enum><text>by striking subparagraph (B).</text></paragraph></subsection></section> 
<section id="H0AE3155C234D4BCFB83D2D7D94E3B87D"><enum>2.</enum><header>Effective date</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">The amendments made by section 1 shall apply with respect to benefits for months after the date of the enactment of this Act.</text></section>
