<official-title>To amend the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970 to modify the provisions relating to citations and penalties.</official-title>

<section id="H138CA5BE9A684370989477167827105D" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the <quote><short-title>Workplace Wrongful Death Accountability Act</short-title></quote>. </text></section> 
<section id="H5F2E3E05D32348A98EF1FB12ED29D83"><enum>2.</enum><header>OSHA Criminal Penalties</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline"> Section 17 of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970 (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/29/666">29 U.S.C. 666</external-xref>) is amended—</text> 
<paragraph id="H84241B9D71224314960542F2C43143FB"><enum>(1)</enum><text>in subsection (e)—</text> 
<subparagraph id="HE1456EB6D1114A248700AF4178CC2B00"><enum>(A)</enum><text>by striking <quote>fine of not more than $10,000</quote> and inserting <quote>fine in accordance with <external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/18/3571">section 3571</external-xref> of title 18, United States Code,</quote>; </text></subparagraph> 
<subparagraph id="HA7B45EACB2D6462891F4464882AFF0E9"><enum>(B)</enum><text>by striking <quote>six months</quote> and inserting <quote>10 years</quote>; </text></subparagraph> 
<subparagraph id="H99BE523EB7064F90A857ED00D23E96B4"><enum>(C)</enum><text>by inserting <quote>under this subsection or subsection (i)</quote> after <quote>first conviction of such person</quote>; </text></subparagraph> 
<subparagraph id="H966D05D86AE94AE0ACACC3054C38ACAE"><enum>(D)</enum><text>by striking <quote>fine of not more than $20,000</quote> and inserting <quote>fine in accordance with <external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/18/3571">section 3571</external-xref> of title 18, United States Code,</quote>; and</text></subparagraph> 
<subparagraph id="HC46A001F4C954CEA9EAC2BE0636405CD"><enum>(E)</enum><text>by striking <quote>one year</quote> and inserting <quote>20 years</quote>; </text></subparagraph></paragraph> 
<paragraph id="H0601AF3D889F443E9282DAA293168955"><enum>(2)</enum><text>in subsection (f), by striking <quote>fine of not more than $1,000 or by imprisonment for not more than six months,</quote> and inserting <quote>fine in accordance with <external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/18/3571">section 3571</external-xref> of title 18, United States Code, or by imprisonment for not more than 2 years</quote>; and </text></paragraph> 
<paragraph id="H300431CE80BA4175B23072D793087365"><enum>(3)</enum><text>in subsection (g), by striking <quote>fine of not more than $10,000, or by imprisonment for not more than six months,</quote> and inserting <quote>fine in accordance with <external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/18/3571">section 3571</external-xref> of title 18, United States Code, or by imprisonment for not more than 1 year,</quote>.</text> </paragraph></section>
