		<official-title display="yes">To amend the National Trails System Act to
		  designate the route of the Mississippi River from its headwaters in the State
		  of Minnesota to the Gulf of Mexico for study for potential addition to the
		  National Trails System as a national scenic trail, national historic trail, or
		  both, and for other purposes.</official-title>

		<section display-inline="no-display-inline" id="H57872AF733F14387A27DF553348B0415" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the
			 <quote><short-title>Mississippi River Trail Study
			 Act</short-title></quote>.</text>
		</section><section id="HAEEEE5EFE60049A69975B43CA1BC94B9"><enum>2.</enum><header>Designation of
			 route of the Mississippi River for study for potential addition to the National
			 Trails System</header>
			<subsection id="H121F7785E922467EBA00BD98C7F4095B"><enum>(a)</enum><header>Designation</header><text>Section
			 5(c) of the National Trails System Act (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/16/1244">16 U.S.C. 1244(c)</external-xref>) is
			 amended—</text>
				<paragraph id="HFBA14457D6CD4C019BF15E2F45E1B1B"><enum>(1)</enum><text>by
			 redesignating the first paragraph after paragraph (40) as paragraph (41) and,
			 in such paragraph, by striking <quote>The</quote> and inserting
			 <quote><header-in-text level="subsection" style="OLC">Long walk
			 trail</header-in-text>.—The</quote>;</text>
				</paragraph><paragraph id="H3A6FA2BFE5284C39908BA331B9CA4D99"><enum>(2)</enum><text>by redesignating
			 the second paragraph after paragraph (40) as paragraph (42); and</text>
				</paragraph><paragraph id="HB2800E29A26B4A76941D1C8F06002561"><enum>(3)</enum><text>by adding at the
			 end the following new paragraph:</text>

				</paragraph></subsection><subsection id="H778A516030D947AF8014B45122102542"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Relation to
			 other studies</header><text>The study required by the amendment made by this
			 section is intended to complement, and not duplicate, other studies of the
			 scenic or historical importance of the Mississippi River that may be underway
			 or undertaken.</text>
