<official-title>To amend the Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation, and Liability Act of 1980 to require public availability of an accounting of all funds used, or required to be used, for response to a release of a hazardous substance or pollutant or contaminant.</official-title>

<section section-type="section-one" id="H65AC88D9A927483B83F755BA19F3ED9" display-inline="no-display-inline"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the <quote><short-title>Pollution Accountability Act</short-title></quote>.</text></section> 
<section id="H84665FDC4C534D219ED1BE49DD1BA3AB"><enum>2.</enum><header>Amendment</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">Section 117 of the <act-name parsable-cite="CERCL">Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation, and Liability Act of 1980</act-name> (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/42/9617">42 U.S.C. 9617</external-xref>) is amended by adding at the end the following new subsection:</text>

<subsection id="H9794283AF07049CC9F5F006340BC0305"><enum>(f)</enum><header>Accounting</header><text>Any person who undertakes, or who is required to undertake, a response to a release of a hazardous substance or pollutant or contaminant shall make available to any person, on request, an accounting of any funds used, or required by any court or administrative action to be used, for such response.</text></subsection><after-quoted-block>.</after-quoted-block></quoted-block></section>
