<section section-type="section-one" id="H838476676E9F4ADD87ED32AC7880C0AB" display-inline="no-display-inline"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the <quote><short-title>Veterans Prescription Access Improvement Act</short-title></quote>.</text></section>
<section id="HC87A0714AE174A7382093BEA008E633D"><enum>2.</enum><header>Authority of Department of Veterans Affairs pharmacies to dispense medications to veterans on prescriptions written by private practitioners</header>
<subsection id="HFD5F67D65246434CA9A0344D48F6590"><enum>(a)</enum><header>Authority</header><text><external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/38/1712">Section 1712(d)</external-xref> of title 38, United States Code, is amended to read as follows:</text>

<subsection id="HC73FBD26C0A84895B913D226FC7FCC33"><enum>(d)</enum><text>Subject to <external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/38/1722A">section 1722A</external-xref> of this title, the Secretary shall furnish to a veteran such drugs and medicines as may be ordered on prescription of a duly licensed physician in the treatment of any illness or injury of the veteran.</text></subsection><after-quoted-block>.</after-quoted-block></quoted-block></subsection>
<subsection id="H3B04F930207F423CAE6468C3FA005B23"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Clerical amendments</header>
<paragraph display-inline="yes-display-inline" id="H1123897D32E34A2DB2406CD0B1CD2BBE"><enum>(1)</enum><text>The heading of section 1712 of such title is amended by striking the sixth through ninth words.</text></paragraph>
<paragraph indent="up1" id="HDEC55F8D76494B5596D55E003DB32BE2"><enum>(2)</enum><text>The item relating to section 1712 in the table of sections at the beginning of chapter 17 of such title is amended by striking the sixth through ninth words.</text></paragraph></subsection></section>
