<official-title>To amend the Internal Revenue Code of 1986 to provide a tax credit to individuals who make contributions to finance the non-Federal share of projects of the Army Corps of Engineers.</official-title>

<section id="HE39D335EAAEC4967BD5569679DBB54A8" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Credit for contributions for non-Federal share of Army Corps of Engineers projects</header> 
<subsection id="H1DCA5D43B9B1458DA9AA394FFFF4849E"><enum>(a)</enum><header>In general</header><text>Subpart B of part IV of subchapter A of <external-xref legal-doc="usc-chapter" parsable-cite="usc-chapter/26/1">chapter 1</external-xref> of the Internal Revenue Code of 1986 (relating to other credits) is amended by inserting after section 30A the following new section:</text> 
<quoted-block style="OLC" id="H8CBB5A380FA3469CA8E2352884BB73BB" display-inline="no-display-inline"> 
<section id="HC8CC897BB2684EF192B791D84187583"><enum>30B.</enum><header>Contributions for non-Federal share of Army Corps of Engineers projects</header> 
<subsection id="HADD3310571864E2CACB498BF38A6EDBC"><enum>(a)</enum><header>In general</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">There shall be allowed as a credit against the tax imposed by this chapter for the taxable year an amount equal to the aggregate Army Corps of Engineers project contributions made by the taxpayer during such taxable year.</text></subsection> 
<subsection id="H799004B756B942A7B0A03B70DB4F70EE"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Army Corps of Engineers project contribution</header><text>For purposes of this section, the term <quote>Army Corps of Engineers project contribution</quote> means any amount paid or incurred to any Federal, State, or local government, or instrumentality thereof, for the non-Federal share of any water resources project carried out by the Secretary of the Army acting through the Chief of Engineers.</text></subsection> 
<subsection id="HABE0C8924E9244AE848D246C29C7C797"><enum>(c)</enum><header>Denial of double benefit</header><text>No amount taken into account under this section shall be taken into account in determining any other credit or deduction under this chapter.</text></subsection> 
<subsection id="HC55D67CDF9104D60B7C5B4A6151008F8"><enum>(d)</enum><header>Application with other credits</header><text>The credit allowed by this section shall not exceed the sum of—</text> 
<paragraph id="H94FECECE90004DF5A7FBC5C66FC9B663"><enum>(1)</enum><text>the regular tax for the taxable year reduced by the sum of the credits allowed under this part (other than this section), and</text></paragraph> 
<paragraph id="H15C2831C13FA45879FABD1E07B29B8"><enum>(2)</enum><text>the tentative minimum tax for the taxable year.</text></paragraph></subsection></section><after-quoted-block>.</after-quoted-block></quoted-block></subsection> 
<subsection id="HA4887EEA927641C3BF06071771DE532B"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Clerical amendment</header><text>The table of sections of such subpart is amended by inserting after the item relating to section 30A the following new item:</text>

<toc-entry idref="HC8CC897BB2684EF192B791D84187583" level="section">Sec. 30B. Contributions for non-Federal share of Army Corps of Engineers projects</toc-entry> </toc><after-quoted-block>.</after-quoted-block></quoted-block></subsection> 
<subsection id="H9D1F00E2B83E48C791F465711D93FC35"><enum>(c)</enum><header>Effective date</header><text>The amendments made by this section shall apply to amounts paid or incurred after the date of the enactment of this Act in taxable years ending after such date.</text> </subsection></section>
