<official-title>To repeal the reduction in Medicare payment for therapeutic shoes and inserts for individuals with diabetes effected by section 627 of the Medicare Prescription Drug, Improvement, and Modernization Act of 2003.</official-title>

<section id="H17FBCFFFA3984358A3A525D9F4B5089F" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the <quote><short-title>Medicare Diabetic Footwear Quality Restoration Act of 2005</short-title></quote>.</text></section> 
<section id="H384FA86EE46D4D648800F6DC246CEA00"><enum>2.</enum><header>Repeal of the reduction in medicare payment for orthopedic shoes and inserts for individuals with diabetes</header> 
<subsection id="HE46C81621AFF4233A3FF9CA5416138C"><enum>(a)</enum><header>In general</header><text>Section 627(c) of the Medicare Prescription Drug, Improvement, and Modernization Act of 2003 (<external-xref legal-doc="public-law" parsable-cite="pl/108/173">Public Law 108–173</external-xref>) is amended by inserting <quote>, and before January 1, 2006</quote> after <quote>January 1, 2005</quote>.</text></subsection> 
<subsection id="H71E5EAAB1B31493FACA98F468DD869BB"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Conforming law</header><text>For items furnished on and after January 1, 2006, the provisions of sections 1833(o), 1834(h)(4)(C), and 1842(s)(2) of the Social Security Act (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/42/1395l">42 U.S.C. 1395l(o)</external-xref>, 1395m(h)(4)(C), 1395u(s)(2)) shall be restored as if the amendments made by subsections (a) and (b) of section 627 of the Medicare Prescription Drug, Improvement, and Modernization Act of 2003 (<external-xref legal-doc="public-law" parsable-cite="pl/108/173">Public Law 108–173</external-xref>) had not been enacted.</text> </subsection></section>
