<official-title>To amend the Higher Education Act of 1965 to prevent sex offenders subject to involuntary civil commitments from receiving Federal student financial aid.</official-title>

<section id="H277646ECD1AC4AD59063F572B06BF26C" section-type="section-one" display-inline="no-display-inline"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline"> This Act may be cited as the <quote><short-title>No Financial Aid for Sex Offenders Act</short-title></quote>.</text></section> 
<section id="HBFC2F7EFD3F3464BA47DBB62B2A008B1"><enum>2.</enum><header>Prohibition on aid</header> 
<subsection id="H2857D136C7314E1C9477C6F9D5B5B8C3"><enum>(a)</enum><header>Pell grants</header><text>Section 401(b)(8) of the Higher Education Act of 1965 (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/20/1070a">20 U.S.C. 1070a(b)(8)</external-xref>) is amended by inserting before the period the following: <quote>or who is subject to an involuntary civil commitment upon completion of a period of incarceration for a sexual offense (as determined under regulations of the Secretary)</quote>.</text></subsection> 
<subsection id="HEA699C8DD4564AA1AA1C1226B6057FA1"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Loans</header><text>Section 484(b)(5) of such Act (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/20/1091">20 U.S.C. 1091(b)(5)</external-xref>) is amended by inserting before the period the following: <quote>and no student who is subject to an involuntary civil commitment upon completion of a period of incarceration for a sexual offense (as determined under regulations of the Secretary) is eligible to receive a loan under this title</quote>.</text></subsection></section>
