<official-title display="yes">To extend for 3 years changes to requirements for admission of nonimmigrant nurses in health professional shortage areas made by the Nursing Relief for Disadvantaged Areas Act of 1999.</official-title>

<section id="H49967D1BF7E14F5183D7EC96D0805B3D" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the <quote><short-title>Nursing Relief for Disadvantaged Areas Reauthorization Act of 2005</short-title></quote>.</text></section> 
<section id="H4B3726CBADCF48C600B7661BFD3D1052"><enum>2.</enum><header>3-year extension for changes to requirements for admission of nonimmigrant nurses in health professional shortage areas</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">Section 2 of the Nursing Relief for Disadvantaged Areas Act of 1999 (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/8/1182">8 U.S.C. 1182</external-xref> note) is amended—</text> 
<paragraph id="H8271CF9D060D4DEC809277907CCDA05F"><enum>(1)</enum><text>in the section heading, by striking <quote><header-in-text level="section" style="OLC">4-year</header-in-text></quote> and inserting <quote><header-in-text level="section" style="OLC">specified</header-in-text></quote>; and</text></paragraph> 
<paragraph id="HADA0984459BB4A228B08CBF8FE7299D0"><enum>(2)</enum><text>by amending subsection (e) to read as follows:</text>

<subsection id="HC5DA51A029EC46F3A97B7EF9946F8016"><enum>(e)</enum><header>Limiting application of nonimmigrant changes to specified period</header><text>The amendments made by this section shall apply to classification petitions filed for nonimmigrant status only during the period—</text> 
<paragraph id="H58EB68EAF5E141F9A8A6E042707F347F"><enum>(1)</enum><text>beginning on the date that interim or final regulations are first promulgated under subsection (d); and</text></paragraph> 
<paragraph id="HAED362DB4446452E9675E00300C06CCE"><enum>(2)</enum><text>ending on the date that is 3 years after the date of the enactment of the Nursing Relief for Disadvantaged Areas Reauthorization Act of 2005.</text></paragraph></subsection><after-quoted-block>.</after-quoted-block></quoted-block></paragraph></section> 
<section id="HC278B7F867CA4E1581793630EFBD5C53"><enum>3.</enum><header>Exemption from Administrative Procedure Act</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">The requirements of <external-xref legal-doc="usc-chapter" parsable-cite="usc-chapter/5/5">chapter 5</external-xref> of title 5, United States Code (commonly referred to as the <quote>Administrative Procedure Act</quote>) or any other law relating to rulemaking, information collection or publication in the Federal Register, shall not apply to any action to implement the amendments made by section 2 to the extent the Secretary Homeland of Security, the Secretary of Labor, or the Secretary of Health and Human Services determines that compliance with any such requirement would impede the expeditious implementation of such amendments.</text> </section>
