<section id="HE12C2CB24F6E4BF3B4832342FD8EA679" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Amendment of Truth in Regulating Act to make permanent pilot project for report on rules</header> 
<subsection id="HF4C8A9AB8F4E4F43A7254F8385FF02A2"><enum>(a)</enum><header>Purpose</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">The purpose of this section is to make permanent the authority to request the performance of regulatory analysis to enhance Congressional responsibility for regulatory decisions developed under the laws enacted by Congress.</text></subsection> 
<subsection id="H9FA2D90BF13F43F9A6709F5B2FF5D33F"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Amendment</header><text>The Truth in Regulating Act of 2000 (<external-xref legal-doc="public-law" parsable-cite="pl/106/312">Public Law 106–312</external-xref>; <external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/5/801">5 U.S.C. 801</external-xref> note) is amended—</text> 
<paragraph id="HECF5D237A8994BEDBBA26ED1E788CD3"><enum>(1)</enum><text>in the heading for section 4, by striking <quote><header-in-text>pilot project for</header-in-text></quote>;</text></paragraph> 
<paragraph id="H1B6CA9BBCD274903AAB2105EE2C3C4C"><enum>(2)</enum><text>by striking section 5 and redesignating section 6 as section 5; and</text></paragraph> 
<paragraph id="HAF678C3D513747F4BD477800E854CF00"><enum>(3)</enum><text>in section 5 (as redesignated by paragraph (2))—</text> 
<subparagraph id="H5A31F78A87B7474EB6150963AA259E80"><enum>(A)</enum><text>in the heading, by striking <quote><header-in-text>and duration of pilot project</header-in-text></quote>;</text></subparagraph> 
<subparagraph id="H5D2AC7E9CB5A4F538BFD86C57C77C2F"><enum>(B)</enum><text>in subsection (a), by striking <quote>(a) <header-in-text level="subsection" style="OLC">Effective Date</header-in-text>.—</quote>; and</text></subparagraph>
