<official-title>To establish the Thomas Edison National Historical Park in the State of New Jersey as the successor to the Edison National Historic Site.</official-title>

<section id="HB9A99B69651E41709419FD4972FB4E7" section-type="section-one" display-inline="no-display-inline"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the <quote><short-title>Act Commemorating the LITE, or Lifetime Innovations of Thomas Edison</short-title></quote>.</text></section> 
<section id="H27F11CE6CC614B9197A918FEED00887B"><enum>2.</enum><header>Purposes</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">The purposes of this Act are—</text> 
<paragraph id="HA469CFCDA45D46708015E4045C675DD6"><enum>(1)</enum><text>to recognize and pay tribute to Thomas Alva Edison and his innovations; and</text></paragraph> 
<paragraph id="H76965DD45A0A4081A1AB0338A2AC1857"><enum>(2)</enum><text>to preserve, protect, restore, and enhance the Edison National Historic Site to ensure public use and enjoyment of the Site as an educational, scientific, and cultural center.</text></paragraph></section> 
<section id="H39FA17441385434AB8CE82BC6829F17"><enum>3.</enum><header>Thomas Edison National Historical Park</header> 
<subsection id="H9694FC1C07DB43A9AAD56BF24626E2FF"><enum>(a)</enum><header>Establishment</header><text>There is established the Thomas Edison National Historical Park as a unit of the National Park System (hereafter the <quote>Historical Park</quote>).</text></subsection> 
<subsection id="HB074D9F462C446D5AFE12CEA572D83C5"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Boundaries</header><text>The Historical Park shall be comprised of—</text> 
<paragraph id="H4D5360477E0043B08C7FA9341BF83E63"><enum>(1)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">all property owned by the United States in the Edison National Historic Site as well as all property authorized to be acquired by the Secretary of the Interior for inclusion in the Edison National Historic Site before the date of the enactment of this Act, as generally depicted on the map entitled the <quote>Edison National Historic Site</quote>, numbered 20003B, and dated April 1977; and</text></paragraph> 
<paragraph id="HD950EF16073E42D0AB2E34D5652B93BC"><enum>(2)</enum><text>all property authorized to be acquired for inclusion in the Historical Park by this Act or other law enacted after the date of the enactment of this Act. </text></paragraph></subsection> 
<subsection id="HCCC114771B604016A6A49FAAD51860DC"><enum>(c)</enum><header>Map</header><text>The map of the Historical Park shall be on file and available for public inspection in the appropriate offices of the National Park Service.</text></subsection></section> 
<section id="H308293301E814767B87B5818A76155D"><enum>4.</enum><header>Administration</header> 
<subsection id="HBF2BB12FE37C4588923893C632E32414"><enum>(a)</enum><header>In general</header><text>The Secretary shall administer the Historical Park in accordance with this Act and with the provisions of law generally applicable to units of the National Park System, including the Acts entitled <quote>An Act to establish a National Park Service, and for other purposes,</quote> approved August 25, 1916 (39 Stat. 535; <external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/16/1">16 U.S.C. 1 et seq.</external-xref>) and <quote>An Act to provide for the preservation of historic American sites, buildings, objects, and antiquities of national significance, and for other purposes,</quote> approved August 21, 1935 (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/16/461">16 U.S.C. 461 et seq.</external-xref>).</text></subsection> 
<subsection id="HD12F8EBD73FB4A7BA623FFB3BE89CA0"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Acquisition of property</header> 
<paragraph id="HD9B92EEC0F0F458AB28F24B008CCFCD2"><enum>(1)</enum><header>Real property</header><text>The Secretary may acquire land or interests in land within the boundaries of the Historical Park, from willing sellers only, by donation, purchase with donated or appropriated funds, or exchange.</text></paragraph> 
<paragraph id="H5786BD9F90204CE491A351EF7FDC7E4E"><enum>(2)</enum><header>Personal property</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">The Secretary may acquire personal property associated with, and appropriate for, interpretation of the Historical Park.</text></paragraph></subsection> 
<subsection id="H55A3C43AF0034BE39B9FDAE94F83D263"><enum>(c)</enum><header>Cooperative agreements</header><text>The Secretary may consult and enter into cooperative agreements with interested entities and individuals to provide for the preservation, development, interpretation, and use of the Historical Park.</text></subsection> 
<subsection id="H29F51EC2F3C34A08BA778CE58006B13"><enum>(d)</enum><header>Repeal of superseded law</header><text>Public Law 87-628 (76 Stat. 428), regarding the establishment and administration of the Edison National Historic Site, is repealed.</text></subsection> 
<subsection id="H1D0AA928D40F4E92A1E52F9E06249EC7"><enum>(e)</enum><header>References</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">Any reference in a law, map, regulation, document, paper, or other record of the United States to the <quote>Edison National Historic Site</quote> shall be deemed to be a reference to the <quote>Thomas Edison National Historical Park</quote>.</text></subsection></section> 
<section id="HD19EC39C39B0489999656BEBBE2F9F5"><enum>5.</enum><header>Authorization of appropriations</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">There is authorized to be appropriated such sums as may be necessary to carry out this Act.</text></section>
