<official-title>To provide that no more than 50 percent of funding made available under the Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Act of 1981 for any fiscal year be provided for home heating purposes.</official-title>

<section id="H4AC81EF3B8D3475A87670079DD70F86F" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the <quote><short-title>LIHEAP Equity Act of 2005</short-title></quote>.</text></section> 
<section id="H3C00C9146196444CADAAB7DEA46E3B22"><enum>2.</enum><header>Amendments</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">Section 2604(a)(1) of the Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Act of 1981 (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/42/8623">42 U.S.C. 8623(a)(1)</external-xref>) is amended—</text> 
<paragraph id="HA44A135F4D1C46F0B7F71B666706A314"><enum>(1)</enum><text>in subparagraph (A) by striking <quote>subparagraph (B)</quote> and inserting <quote>subparagraphs (B) and (C)</quote>; and</text></paragraph> 
<paragraph id="HE12B25F902F34B64B36ED338B977CBD6"><enum>(2)</enum><text>by adding at the end the following new subparagraph:</text>

<subparagraph id="HB85364A761C24933B44CE27C11227F05"><enum>(C)</enum><text>Not more than 50 percent of amounts appropriated for carrying out this title for any fiscal year shall be provided for home heating purposes.</text></subparagraph><after-quoted-block>.</after-quoted-block></quoted-block></paragraph></section>
