<section section-type="section-one" id="HDF0C4A51A549400B8DAF6F6F1277A1A3" display-inline="no-display-inline"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the <quote><short-title>Public Housing Tenants Respect Act of 2005</short-title></quote>.</text></section> 
<section id="HB8C1165469564C8A93B5FF09AE7F445D"><enum>2.</enum><header>Repeal of public housing community service and family self-sufficiency requirements</header> 
<subsection id="H88CEBCBC99304F63B0EE732D00FE2E72"><enum>(a)</enum><header>In general</header><text>Section 12 of the <act-name parsable-cite="USHA">United States Housing Act of 1937</act-name> (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/42/1437j">42 U.S.C. 1437j</external-xref>) is amended by striking subsections (c) through (g).</text></subsection> 
<subsection id="H06121EA219054EF2AEA0DEA572BB387D"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Conforming amendments</header><text>The <act-name parsable-cite="USHA">United States Housing Act of 1937</act-name> is amended—</text> 
<paragraph id="H8AB668894D4B4AC5A77F3FD2951732F5"><enum>(1)</enum><text>in section 5A(d)(12) (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/42/1437c-1">42 U.S.C. 1437c–1(d)(12)</external-xref>)—</text> 
<subparagraph id="H02F1B3C368C349A9A533C8CDF3C1205"><enum>(A)</enum><text>in subparagraph (A), by inserting <quote>and</quote> after the semicolon;</text></subparagraph> 
<subparagraph id="H8A7E685CCE9047BD924431A03DDB267D"><enum>(B)</enum><text>in subparagraph (B), by striking the semicolon and inserting a period; and</text></subparagraph> 
<subparagraph id="H14DFBA62FBDD4F0EA425A04FDDE3F002"><enum>(C)</enum><text>by striking subparagraph (C);</text></subparagraph></paragraph> 
<paragraph id="H8B0F21DB50BF4F118770F33FFB492FB7"><enum>(2)</enum><text>in section 6(l)(1) (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/42/1437d">42 U.S.C. 1437d(l)(1)</external-xref>), by striking <quote>except for noncompliance</quote> and all that follows through <quote>based on such noncompliance</quote>; and</text></paragraph> 
<paragraph id="H7929FACB9E12413CB469FA567BF605E2"><enum>(3)</enum><text>in section 9(e)(1)(H) (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/42/1437g">42 U.S.C. 1437g(e)(1)(H)</external-xref>), by striking <quote>a public housing work program under section 12</quote> and inserting <quote>any program that provides work for residents of public housing</quote>.</text></paragraph></subsection></section>
