A BILL
To authorize the President to promote posthumously the late Raymond
Ames Spruance to the grade of Fleet Admiral of the United States Navy,
and for other purposes.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the
United States of America in Congress assembled,
SECTION 1. POSTHUMOUS PROMOTION OF ADMIRAL RAYMOND AMES SPRUANCE.
The President is authorized and requested to advance the late
Admiral Raymond Ames Spruance to the grade of Fleet Admiral of the
United States Navy on the retired list of the Navy.
SEC. 2. ADDITIONAL BENEFITS NOT TO ACCRUE.
No increase in compensation or benefits based on the service of the
late Admiral Raymond Ames Spruance in the Navy shall result from a
posthumous promotion of Admiral Spruance under the authority of section
1.
