<official-title display="yes">Honoring David Scott Tidmarsh, the 2004 Scripps National Spelling Bee Champion.</official-title>

<whereas><text>Whereas Mr. David Scott Tidmarsh was a student at Edison Intermediate Center located in South Bend, Indiana;</text></whereas> 
<whereas><text>Whereas Mr. Tidmarsh earned his right to compete for the national spelling bee title by winning the City of South Bend, Indiana spelling bee;</text></whereas> 
<whereas><text>Whereas the 77th Annual Scripps National Spelling Bee was held in Washington, D.C. June 1 through 3, 2004;</text></whereas> 
<whereas><text>Whereas 265 spellers from across the United States, American Samoa, the Bahamas, Jamaica, Puerto Rico, Saudi Arabia, and the United States Virgin Islands all competed for the title;</text></whereas> 
<whereas><text>Whereas Mr. Tidmarsh, competitor number 76, competed in the bee and survived 15 rounds of competition; and</text></whereas> 
<whereas><text>Whereas Mr. Tidmarsh’s achievement brings an immense sense of pride to Edison Intermediate Center, his hometown of South Bend, and the state of Indiana: Now, therefore, be it</text></whereas></preamble>

<paragraph display-inline="no-display-inline" id="H52F28AFDA7CE47B788E72FCC1B004900"><enum>(1)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">congratulates David Scott Tidmarsh on his mastery of the English language, culminating in his correctly spelling <quote>autochthonous</quote> in Round 15, and becoming the 77th Annual Scripps National Spelling Bee champion;</text></paragraph> 
<paragraph id="H2D487400D4D3499CB068C8002030351B"><enum>(2)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">recognizes the dedication and achievement of Mr. Tidmarsh;</text></paragraph> 
<paragraph id="H663D05DE41B04934A799E500CC49CEB1"><enum>(3)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">wishes Mr. Tidmarsh much success in achieving his life goals; and</text></paragraph>
