<official-title>To amend the Federal Deposit Insurance Act to prevent conflicts of interest by establishing post-employment limitations on bank examiners-in-charge, and for other purposes.</official-title>

<section id="HD7F4A2DCBA87421AB337B333DDBA9193" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the <quote>Close the Bank Examiner Revolving Door Act </quote>.</text></section> 
<section id="H7A40196F2ADC4707B32899C127032570"><enum>2.</enum><header>Post-employment limitations on bank examiners-in-charge</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">Section 10 of the Federal Deposit Insurance Act (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/12/1821">12 U.S.C. 1821</external-xref>) is amended by adding at the end the following new subsection:</text>

<subsection id="H19D1B6168A1945E1916D07719BC4D53E"><enum>(g)</enum><header>Post-employment limitations on bank examiners-in-charge</header> 
<paragraph id="H4FDCE6778604449A96E7555CA4C26646"><enum>(1)</enum><header>In general</header><text>In the case of any person who—</text> 
<subparagraph id="HE9969D9D3CE54BFBBABF3C2B0300B531"><enum>(A)</enum><text>ceases to be an officer or employee of a Federal banking agency; and</text></subparagraph> 
<subparagraph id="H95F5896C181D40B7914C556E6FCAA17F"><enum>(B)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">at any time during the 3-year period ending on the date such person ceases to be an officer or employee of such agency, was the chief examiner of, or had supervisory authority over, any depository institution,</text></subparagraph><continuation-text continuation-text-level="paragraph">such person may not hold any office, position, or employment (including a position which causes such person to be treated as an institution-affiliated party) at any such depository institution during the 1-year period beginning on such date.</continuation-text></paragraph> 
<paragraph id="H73A45096EDB749B0AEAA18D7986545D6"><enum>(2)</enum><header>Penalty for noncompliance</header> 
<subparagraph id="HBA734B4C3A9F4F64830087DA162DACF0"><enum>(A)</enum><header>In general</header><text>Any person who violates paragraph (1) shall forfeit such person’s retirement and other benefits under title 5, United States Code. </text></subparagraph> 
<subparagraph id="HDF4942AC3C3F4F0A0043BC422947F452"><enum>(B)</enum><header>Notice</header><text>If the head of any Federal banking agency determines that a violation of paragraph (1) has occurred, the head of such agency shall notify the Director of the Office of Personnel Management of such violation.</text></subparagraph></paragraph></subsection><after-quoted-block>.</after-quoted-block></quoted-block></section>
